Democrats reduced to hiding in bushes, posting creepy stalker videos.

I’m not joking about either. Ohio Rep. Jim Renacci (R) told Politico that a neighbor had caught somebody doing precisely that, and I’m pretty sure Politico believes him: they have collected some really, really creepy videos (including one targeting Renacci) of what is apparently an organized effort to sit outside candidate/legislator houses and businesses and… film them. In many cases, going for a 360 degree shot that shows the entire exterior – and if you haven’t already gotten a certain wariness from this new wrinkle in the political process, then really, that last bit should be setting off alarm bells. There’s a point where this sort of thing becomes ‘casing’ a place; looking for weak points in building security qualifies.

The truly crazy bit? This is apparently under the aegis of the Democrats themselves: “Democrats, on the other hand, insist the videos are fair game — and are unapologetic about the hardball tactics.” The videos are apparently being sponsored by the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (at least, that’s how I’m interpreting DCCC spokesman Jesse Ferguson’s defiant defense of the practice); certainly there seems to be a common format, and it’s been done in multiple locations at this point. Which basically means that the DCCC is out and out stalking the Republican party.

Again, I’m not joking. Lurking in bushes.

Let me make it clear, by the way: following candidates around? Part of the game. Hanging out in public places for hours on end, waiting for said candidates to appear (and hopefully do something career-ending)? Well, that’s kind of obsessive and sad, but then the press routinely films Air Force One taking off and landing, just in case something bad happens. That’s just – business, in other words. Taking movies of a candidate’s house and/or business, then posting them on the Internet? Yeah, you’re… messed… up in the head. And I can’t believe that the DCCC hasn’t worked out yet that they’re one lone sociopath away from the Mother Of All Lawsuits…

But it’ll only be defined if Republicans break it. For example, all of Jim’s children are out of the house. But if Republicans recorded someone and they had children still at the house, you’d hear cries of “Think of the children!” Unless Democrats recorded children first. Unless the D’s recorded 16 year old and the R’s recorded 14 year olds. Then it would be “At 16, they know what’s going on and should expect this, but a 14 year old is scared for their life!”

the Republicans are constantly being held to account for calling these people, “thugs.”

Hey, wait a minute…, they ARE thugs!

Obama may win a 2nd term and that is why gov’t continues to grow.

The unfortunate part of this is that it’s likely the wives/families that suffer from these unhinged stalkers. The Congressmen/women are out of the district or at events very often, and their spouses are likely home alone a lot. On top of the other sacrifices the families must make, now they have to worry about stalkers in the bushes.

    Turn on the sprinklers.
    Install unnecessarily bright motion-sensor lights.
Plant roses and holly and barberry, especially under windows.
Start adopting pit bulls or rottweilers.

None of that requires a permit or is particularly difficult….. Building the handgun target range in the basement and getting the necessary permits to carry is slightly more difficult … but participating in a couple target shooting competitions should get the point across….

“When” seems more likely to me. Put up enough information, talk about evil conservatives enough, re-hash past assaults, assailants and victims enough… and someone will act.
But don’t worry about lawsuits. It will be the fault of the evil conservatives.
Bushitlerchaney, Palin put cross-hairs on maps, blah, blah, blah.
The support from the DCCC for the stalking? Nothing to see there, move along.

You could also blare excessively loud disco music like they do to break the enemy.

FYI Renacci already has the target shooting covered.

With all the generous unemployment and disability benefits available in the Obamanation, gainful employment is the uglier alternative.

And they’re quieter than the Rottweilers across the street.

I favor roses, although they do make putting up the winter holiday lights trickier.

As for the floodlights, all you really need to do to not annoy your neighbors is to make sure they’re aimed at your property, not their windows, and all is well.
