Great Scott! I have a Sinking feeling we risk a recount!

Sink Scott

Yes, yes, I can hear the groans from here already, but when I see two polls one day apart from each other that give diametrically opposite results in the Florida Governor’s race, I get worried.

Republican Rick Scott had similarly erratic polling in his primary race which finished close with 3% final difference, so as his polling against Democrat Alex Sink is swingy, I worry about the need for another divisive recount.

The first poll comes from Mason Dixon and shows Sink ahead 44-40 (MoE 4), three points tighter than the firm had it last time.

Next we check in with Rasmussen Reports, whose latest poll shows Scott ahead 50-47 (MoE 4), two points tighter than the previous RR result.

If I average the two in my usual way I get a 53/47 split in Sink’s favor, practically indistinguishable from a coinflip. So yes, I am worried about a recount. With so many competitive races this year we’re practically guaranteed to have at least one, but it doesn’t mean I can’t root against having one.

On my end of the spectrum, I completely trust Ms. Sink in that as Governor, she would make at least one attempt at eliminating the 2nd Amendment from existence here in Florida, or at minimum, canceling all concealed carry permits in one go. Plus, I trust her in having zero compunction from following the Totalitarian-Statist agenda of the Federal administration.

I also know for a fact that a large percentage of people on our side do not trust Mr. Scott.

There’s your recount possibility in a very screwed up nutshell.

I’ll be voting for Mr. Scott……….. and praying I’m wrong about Ms. Sink if she gets in by any means the left deems necessary as a means to their ends.

I was going to write a whole article about this, but then this post showed up and I thought I just leave this as a comment:

    Jeb Bush Endorses Rick Scott

Speaking after a Univision debate Friday night between Scott and Democratic nominee Alex Sink, Bush said, ?I know that Rick Scott’s got a passion for reform and to challenge the conventional wisdom to get the state back on track.?

Although Bush supported Bill McCollum during the Republican primary, he said Scott deserved his vote in November’s general election because ?we need an outside-the-box thinker to get the economy back on track.?

Honestly, if Florida Republicans and Conservatives don’t get behind Rick Scott now, I don’t know if God Himself could sway them.

Get behind Rick Scott. I was behind Bill McCollum and I have settle my differences with Rick Scott (mainly because he choose Jennifer Carroll as his running mate), so can you.

… by conspiring with Katherine Harris and other Forces of Darkness to create the inability of Democrat voters to push the chads out of their ballots?

And who then cast a spell over Democrat voters in Palm Beach County, turning them into morons who couldn’t understand the very simple butterfly ballot?

And who managed, via voodoo or something, to turn the United States Supreme Court into zombies who further helped steal the election?

We need to ask the Democrat leadership, but I’m pretty sure he’s the guy. Very powerful, he is. Beware.

I realize some states have laws which automatically trigger recounts and others are done at a candidate’s behest. I remember the drawn out affair with franken and if there are a number of close races I can see the dem machine pumping in big bucks for recounts and court actions. If for no other reason than to drag out seating an R candidate. There’s been way too many close ones lately and I hope the maybe-voters in florida have learned the power of the one ballot.

I know that there are many who did not initially support Scott, and I respect that.

I got to know him though mutual conservative friends and I have found him to be true to his word. I think he will do good things for Florida.

I will tell you this, if anyone even has a remote idea that Sink will do anything but desecrate Florida..and by extension the country…..please wake up!!

There could be know worse choice for Florida than Sink other than Pelosi or Crist. Scott is the person to vote for.

PS Neil regarding Mason Dixon Poll, weren’t they the most inaccurate of all polls last time? From what I remember, they most always were drastically high for the Dems. i may not have seen all pollls they did. I trust your research.

If this helps at all that would be great. Michigan is poised to elect a republican governor. Currently Rick Snyder is 20 pts ahead in the polls against his democrat opponent. Michigan sucks, and I have lived here my whole life. Florida, do not go down this road, it is to hard to recover. There is no money in FL for democrat spending, government intervention, and non stop entitlements.. It will end badly. You might as well stop it now, four years is a very long time to correct things.

I don’t think it’s that close. Scott will win comfortably.

In the primaries this year nobody was good. Primaries are harder to poll than general elections.

As every single recount of the 2000 Florida vote confirmed that his brother was the winner. So, yes, that’s the guy.

  • rasvar

Not sure how. This is not 2000. The voting systems are completely different and the standards in Florida are now well defined. No arguing about pregnant chads or where to recount. The rules are now set forward. It may be close and there may be a recount but it won’t be anything at all like the morass of 2000.

I really do not think it will come to a recount. Scott will probably have it by about 2% when things are said and done.

  • rasvar

I should add, I worry more about absentee votes being tossed out in Florida. That part of the system has gotten so gamed that I no longer trust it if I don’t have to.
