AOC and Omar Arrest Stunt Was Organized With Soros-Funded Dark Money Group

It was obvious that the effort by Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN), and the other members of Congress who got “arrested” at a protest outside the Supreme Court was a stunt for attention. As we reported, they were mocked into next week for pretending to be in handcuffs, although all they got was a ticket and a nice cushy experience. Some even took selfies–not exactly the experience you would normally have to go through when arrested.

Now, we’re finding out just how much of a stunt it was.

Turns out that getting arrested was the whole point, and a dark money group — which has received in the past over one million a year from George Soros’ Open Society Foundations — was behind the effort. AOC said on Instagram that the Center for Popular Democracy Action Fund asked her and the other members to “submit themselves for arrest in front of the Supreme Court.” But despite admitting that, AOC insisted that it wasn’t a “publicity stunt.”

They even had a film crew there to film the arrest.

Omar spokesman Jeremy Slevin tweeted about 30 minutes before the lawmakers hit the street that a film crew with the dark money group would be on the scene live streaming the event.

“Members of Congress, including [Omar] will be participating in a civil disobedience at the Supreme Court, potentially including arrests, shortly,” Slevin tweeted before the lawmakers began illegally obstructing the street outside the Supreme Court. “@CPDAction is live streaming it. Follow along!”

Some of the other people arrested with the members of Congress were from the CPD group.

“Moments ago, leaders from CPD Action network organizations, members of Congress & more participated in a powerful civil disobedience demonstration & got arrested to protect our RIGHT to SAFE & LEGAL abortions,” the dark money group posted on Facebook Tuesday afternoon.

“This is a clear message to SCOTUS and lawmakers that #WeWontBackDown until ALL pregnancy-abled people are treated as full human beings with the autonomy to make decisions about OUR OWN bodies,” the group added.

They then linked their fundraising page in the Facebook post, so they could raise money off the stunt.

A Capitol Police spokesperson told the Washington Examiner that nobody arrested outside the Supreme Court on Tuesday was handcuffed.

“As is standard for peaceful, planned protests, those who were arrested were ticketed and released on site,” the spokesperson said. “Nobody was handcuffed, as is standard for a noncustodial arrest. Everyone was arrested for Crowding, Obstructing, or Incommoding (DC Code ยง 22โ€“1307). They have up to 15 days to pay a $50 fine or they can have a hearing.”

AOC was also using it to raise money.

Talk about drama queen.

The fact that the arrest was the purpose makes AOC ranting and acting like she was being dragged off to Gitmo even more embarrassing. Then, a dark money group telling them to break the law, then raising money off of it is pretty low. We pay for the Capitol Police, so we’re funding them being used this way to pull off this stunt. Democrats can then try to use it to raise money and act like they’re doing something for their base.

Then what have they achieved by this, in terms of abortion? Nothing. But shhh, don’t tell the base that; they might then understand how empty these characters are.
