We’ve written about a number of strange incidents on planes — everything from brawls to people who refuse to turn their phones off and find out that’s not a good idea when it goes wrong. But the video that just went viral over a distressed woman who wanted to get off a plane (and her reason for doing so) was certainly unique. The video already has over 66 million views.

The woman was on an American Airlines flight preparing to depart from Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport. But she wanted off in the worst way. She explained why, and she wasn’t holding back.

Warning for graphic language:

‘I’m telling you, I’m getting the f*** off and there’s a reason why I’m getting the f*** off and everyone can either believe it or they can not believe it,’ the unidentified woman is heard saying as she walks to the front of the plane.

‘I don’t give two f****, but I am telling you right now – that m*****f***** back there is NOT real,’ she adds, pointing towards the back of the plane.

‘And you can sit on this plane and you can die with them or not. I’m not going to.’

When she says that the person back there isn’t real, you can see most of the people turn to look to see who she is talking about, although it isn’t clear from the video who she’s talking about or what may have occurred for her to behave that way. One passenger did say “bye” to her after she said you can sit there and “die with them.”

The original poster, who goes by @texaskansasnnn, claimed the incident delayed their flight by three hours. He said everyone was forced to get off before they reboarded again. Searching for the “non-real” person? That’s pretty wild. What would make them get everyone off the plane at that point is what I’d like to know. The poster also claimed that the woman was not arrested. He even said that she was allowed back through security after the incident, presumably being able to rebook onto a later flight. Hopefully, she didn’t find more “not real” people on that flight.

Now, there are all kinds of deep fakes and things done with artificial intelligence that may result in false stories being run and/or going viral, particularly with the election coming up. But I don’t think they’ve quite figured out how to make a “person” with artificial intelligence who can get on an airplane and fool people.

The reactions to the video varied between those who believed the woman was unwell to those who said they’d watched too many movies like “Final Destination” and wanted to see the person she was talking about. Some wags speculated she’d seen transgender influencer Dylan Mulvaney, Sponge Bob, John Cana, or perhaps the gremlin from that Twilight Zone episode. Who can honestly say?

Unfortunately, there doesn’t appear to be a back end of the video to show the “unreal” person that everyone looked back to.
