A Little More CNN Scandal? Jeff Zucker Caught Hand-Holding With Married CNN Anchor

If you ever wonder why CNN has trouble just reporting the news, maybe it’s because they’re doing everything but.

Ex-CEO Jeff Zucker got the boot from the network because of his relationship with an underling, former executive vice president Allison Gollust. They worked together for twenty years and even lived in the same building before they got divorced from their former spouses. Gollust claimed their relationship developed during COVID, but others said it was “an open secret” for a very long time.

The revelation of their relationship came in the middle of a battle with Chris Cuomo over being fired from the network, with Cuomo’s legal team allegedly asking for the preservation of all communications between Zucker, comms chief Allison Gollust, and Andrew Cuomo. Chris Cuomo wanted the $18 million left on his contract, and it looked like he intended to get it with what he knew.

But now Zucker may have put a damper on that affair with the latest news.

Zucker was spotted holding hands with married CNN anchor Alisyn Camerota at a party at Don Lemon’s house in the Hamptons. Gollust was also at the party.

Just my opinion, but that doesn’t look like a “we’re just friends, and I’m helping you down the driveway” handhold.

While Zucker and Camerota were holding hands, Gollust ended up leaving alone, according to the report. Zucker and Camerota came back about 40 minutes later before leaving in separate cars.

A “source close to the couple” tried to downplay the meaning of the handholding. The source is now claiming there’s nothing to these new pictures of Zucker with Camerota.

“Allison and Jeff have never been happier. He and Camerota were going to meet Allison for coffee,” the source said. And it looks like Zucker, Gollust, and Camerota aren’t talking. They didn’t return calls asking for comment on the situation.

Camerota is the host of “CNN Tonight.” She’s married to Tim Lewis, a partner in a private equity firm with whom she has three children.

Zucker raised eyebrows in June 2019 when making a risque joke about Camerota, who at the time hosted the morning show on CNN.

‘I was gonna say that I love waking up with you every morning, but I want to say that I love waking up to you every morning,’ he said, during his speech at the Mirror Awards in New York – which Camerota hosted.

The party at Lemon’s house was a book party for “The View” host Sunny Hostin which Joy Behar also attended. That must have been one heck of a gathering, a lot of the liberal media in one place.

This comes after speculation after Lemon, Gollust, and Zucker were spotted in Italy in early July with others amid “rumors they could be plotting a bid for the embattled network.” I think it’s a little past their time at this point, and one would hope that Warner/Discovery doesn’t want to go back to that, but who knows? Since they got rid of former CEO Chris Licht, CNN seems to have given up any pretense of being objective.
