CA Lawmaker Files Resolution to Investigate DeSantis but Unintentionally Does in Biden, Dems Instead

We've seen all kinds of lawfare efforts to go after Donald Trump. It seems like they are trying to throw everything they can against the wall to incapacitate the former president. The latest was the Georgia indictment filed this week.

But in case we forget, while they certainly have a special hatred for Trump, Democrats will go after anyone they think might stand in the way of their narrative. Any Republican will be demonized if he/she is an opponent, no matter who the person is.

A California state legislator, Silicon Valley Democratic Assemblyman Evan Low, has now introduced legislation calling for a federal investigation into Florida Governor Ron DeSantis for having the temerity to help send illegal aliens to California from Texas last June.

“To lie and deceive human beings just trying to survive and support their families in order to transport them unknowingly to California for the purpose of scoring cheap political points is unconscionable...” Low said in a statement Tuesday.

Low described DeSantis as an “immoral, power-hungry politician,” and offered his thanks to Gov. Gavin Newsom, Attorney General Rob Bonta and Bexar County (Texas) Sheriff Javier Salazar “for their quick action to investigate.”

This is hilarious on so many levels.

First, I don't know that Low has any evidence at all that the illegal aliens were lied to before being given a free trip to California. If I recall how these trips were dealt with in the past, the people voluntarily went. Second, I'm not sure how giving someone a ride when Biden has released them into the country is somehow a crime in Low's mind. Seems to me the real problem was Biden not enforcing the law at the border to begin with.

But beyond that, isn't California a sanctuary state? Why is this "bad" and how is it scoring "cheap political points" to send them to a state that specifically says they will welcome them with open arms? Isn't that where you should be sending them if you send them anywhere in the U.S.? And isn't it incredibly hypocritical of a Democratic politician to go back on that promise? It sounds like California Democrats were promising something that now he's upset about. So who was deceiving who here? I don't think it was DeSantis.

However, if he thinks that it's bad that DeSantis ships illegal aliens to California, how come it's okay that Joe Biden has shipped them all over the country, sometimes in the dead of night and without warning, to the areas where they are going? What does he think about that? I'm willing to bet that he didn't call that out or say that was bad when Joe Biden was doing it. So add another point to the hypocritical column. It's fine when a Democrat does it in the dead of night for thousands of people, but not for 36 folks if it's a Republican.

But as with all the indictments against Trump, I'm inclined to think that such things only serve to burnish the reputations of Republicans. If Low thinks he's hurting DeSantis with such an action, he's likely to be sorely mistaken.
