Ted Cruz and Community Notes Level Randi Weingarten and Her Propaganda in Glorious Takedown

It's hard to forget how harmful the positions of AFT president Randi Weingarten have been to children's education over the past few years. Countless kids suffered because schools in many places were not reopened for some time during the COVID pandemic, and they lost valuable learning time. I wrote about emails that revealed the influence that the AFT and Weingarten had on the Biden administration on the matter.

But she clearly would like people to forget those remarks and the positions that she took. She's now trying to claim that she always advocated for a "safe reopening of schools."  Click on the post to see the full tweet.

Weingarten got nuked by that Community Note.

This post is factually not accurate.  Randi Weingarten has opposed school reopenings, as recorded in the press at that time. A quick internet search shows this post is misleading.

Then they listed a variety of sources. They could have listed anything — there's so much evidence out there,

But then there was another Community Note declaring that Weingarten had said that reopening was "reckless, callous and cruel."

Parents Defending Education Nicki Neily cheered the Community Notes response to Weingarten and let her have it.

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) also called the first "awesome."

He also thought it was "hysterical that she limits comments to the Leftists she follows." "Truth doesn’t matter; the teacher doesn’t want her homework corrected," he declared.

That's right, she doesn't want people calling out what she has to say. That's a pretty cowardly move on her part. But it doesn't change the truth. Now, with Community Notes, she can't hide from the truth and spread malarkey without being checked. She can't shut down all the people who know what she and her political cronies did.

It isn't something any of us will forget; we can remember everything. It wasn't that long ago. But in case anyone ever did, the internet is also forever, as are Weingarten's comments on the matter. This video just has a small sample of them.

It was all about the politics and their interests. They didn't care about how it would affect the children. She should be ashamed of what she did — if she had any conscience at all.

As we reported in the past, she's tried to slip by rewriting history, but she keeps getting nailed. She may have been able to lobby to keep schools closed, but she can't close Community Notes and the people who will call her out with a healthy dose of the brutal reality of what she did.
