Laugh of the Day: Gutfeld Talks With Guy Who Photobombed Dick Morris on Zoom Call, Lighting Up Internet

We've seen a lot of things since the advent of Zoom calls and remote interviewing that I don't think we expected to see.

But I don't think we were quite ready for whatever this was, that happened during a remote interview with Dick Morris this week. It appeared that a man just walked in in his underwear, and went right past him.

Now, Greg Gutfeld has found the man as our friends at Twitchy noted, and he explains what happened in a hilarious video. The host managed to have him on for an interview, where the guy explained what was going on.

The guy, Doug DePierro, was kind enough to explain himself after he exploded to fame this week because of the mysterious walk-on. And he sounded exactly like you would think he should, from the quick look at him on the Zoom call.

First, he explained that they were in Florida, so it was hot. He was in shorts and a tank top, not underwear, despite what it looked like, he said. DePierro was hilarious, as he explained he was trying to set things up for Morris in the background for his shot, in which he was talking about the Iowa caucus poll. DePierro stressed that he told him he had to do the shot on an angle because DePierro was going to be coming in and out of the room, so they wouldn't want to show that. But Morris didn't redirect the camera on the angle, making for that memorable shot. He joked he had the "perfect face for radio."

DePierro says he was there with his girlfriend upstairs, "having a nice time," and he had to say that the girlfriend was as "hot as could be," and he was "working on his motorcycle" too. He said Morris was "like 'Rain Man,'" he "can't screw a lightbulb in," and one of the "nicest guys," his best friend. But Morris didn't put it on an angle, so "what are ya gonna do, this is life."

Gutfeld asked him if he might try to make some kind of commercial venture off this notoriety now. DePierro said that maybe he'd plan more funny walk-ins on Zoom calls in the future. Gutfeld suggested that maybe, they should have him be the show's fashion consultant. DePierro snarked, "Yeah, with my wifebeater," referencing the shirt he had been wearing. Then he mocked Gutfeld's Mr. Magoo glasses.

It is great to see, in politics, someone have a sense of humor and take such a moment so well--in a way that we can all enjoy. Looks like the "mystery guy" might have some entertaining moments to come in the future.
