Bowman Busted for Despicable Comment on Israel Attack, Now Spinning Madly; Fetterman Weighs In

Rep. Jamaal Bowman (D-NY) is not known for his great judgment. Among his notable actions are pulling the fire alarm when Democrats were trying to delay a vote in Congress and then managing to suffer no great consequences for that action. Once again, the "magical D" seemed to provide sufficient cover.

But he's part of the leftist squad pushing against Israel, despite the evil Oct. 7 attack against them by Hamas.

Bowman made a pretty despicable comment at a Nov. 17 rally. Politico reported he called the reports of rape by Hamas against civilians "propaganda" and a "lie," saying there was no evidence of rape.

Politico noted a variety of evidence that existed of rape prior to Nov. 17 in media, including through the video taken by Hamas members themselves.

When Politico confronted Bowman about his statement at the rally, he said he was "focused on my votes" and "not talking."

Then, after he was busted for what he said at the rally, Politico said he didn't deny making the comments but issued a statement. Talk about spinning madly.

“As I said at this rally, what Hamas did on October 7th is a war crime and they must release all the hostages,” he said. “The UN confirmed that Hamas committed rape and sexual violence, a reprehensible fact that I condemn entirely. I also voted yes on Resolution 966, which officially condemns the rape and sexual violence committed by Hamas. So let me be clear, and ensure my words are not twisted: I always stand against sexual violence in all forms and stand for peace for all.”

Somehow, that sounds a bit different from what he said at the rally. And why do you need the ridiculous UN to confirm it? What happened to believing all women? Or does that just apply when it's convenient to your political position?

But Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA) weighed in on Wednesday morning.

Fetterman pointed to the story of one hostage who spoke about how she was raped in captivity. His message was clear and directed at those denying the facts and pushing garbage. He also blasted Hamas and ripped the UN for not condemning them.

"Some members of Congress won't condemn this. Some dismissed this as 'propaganda'. The UN won't even condemn Hamas.

Hamas is not a group of 'militants' or engaging in 'insurgency'—just rapists and cowards hiding behind innocent civilians."

That's a good statement calling out the nonsense, and it sounds like that was directed at Bowman, among others. But it tells you how bankrupt so many of the Democrats are now on this issue when it seems like few are willing to stand up and make strong statements.
