And Wonders of His Love…..

Promoted from diaries and bumped – Moe Lane

My 23 year old son sent me this video. From there, came the idea of a Christmas post; though it is about more than Christmas – had Thanksgiving on my mind, and the year to come.

As I watched this video, I was enthralled with the beautiful scenes of nature: the quiet of the woods, the light reflecting off the snow, seasons of the year – all capturing moments of beauty and life. Look at the little birds – in their winter garb, a red, red male cardinal, next to his mate, a red fox in the winter woods. And the pictures of churches, old and new, big and small – all belonging to a world that allows us to appreciate the “wonders of His love.”

Yet, there are times when the negative and the shadows of this world intrude upon us. We are coming to the end of a tumultuous year. Lows and highs. Obamacare passed despite our efforts to stop it. We won elections no one thought we would, and yes, we lost others. Two years ago, the Republican party was pronounced “dead.” While we were lost and uncertain, there was still something deep within us – a yearning to be free. We remembered who we are, Americans, stout of heart, principled, and we know how to move toward the light, and work for what is right. No, we’re not dead; the renewal and rebirth of traditional Americans, citizen activists, and Tea Party groups – says otherwise to those who thought they had broken our spirit.

Nothing can be secure and strong unless guided by a fixed star in one’s life. You have to be principled. When we forget that, we lose our center and start wandering. The Founding Fathers gave the nation a fixed star – our Constitution. God, the Creator, gave us inalienable rights, and if we traditional Americans would hold to that which was set forth such a long time ago, both since the beginning of time, two-thousand years ago, and 234 years ago, we’ll be able to face the challenges that lie ahead. Whether it is to meet the challenges our nation faces, or personal ones, if we adhere to truth, we will not be defeated. Our faith in this country – our patriotism – is tied to our faith in our Creator – a Being greater and more majestic than our own minds can conceive. Those that came before us knew it. Maybe not all defined and clear, but it is there; they wrote about and it is in the indestructible thread of our nation’s history. To this day it is what makes America unique in the world. If we remain a humble and grateful people, then the nation will prevail.

Next year, the problems America faces are far greater than an upcoming election. We have our culture to take back, and instead of surrendering our culture and faith, we must speak up – for ourselves, our families, future generations, the unborn and those that cannot speak for themselves. It certainly isn’t the politicians who will speak for us. How do I know we can do this? Because of that fixed Star in the Heavens. We are centered. We move toward the light, and keep the darkness at bay.

The video below has enthralled millions, to date 22 million “hits.” I’m almost embarrassed to tell you how many times I’ve watched it. But it isn’t just the majesty of Handel’s music that speaks, but the crowd, and their faces. You’ll see the moment when all gets quiet, sound and movement come to a standstill. You see the people listening, feeling and experiencing something out of the ordinary. With amazement, and delight. Look closely, a little boy’s eyes shine with wonder, then his mother clasps his hand. People film it with their cellphones, and some join in singing with the beautiful, trained singers. They are touched – a memory never to be forgotten. Perhaps it is a hunger appeased, that a food court in a mall cannot provide. A moment of Light, in a life that may be difficult, matching the beauty of God’s creations in nature. It is the bond of our humanness and capacity for joy, and delight.  For that which is good.

I wish for all of you, peace – in your own lives, for your loved ones, this RS community, and for this great nation, America.

Alleluia!……….Rejoice!………. Alleluia!

that truly speaks to the masses :) It is those moments of true life that you see in the faces of others when they “get it” that makes you know that all is not lost and that WE The People of these United States of America will continue to be a Judeo-Christian nation, no matter how hard the statists try to change it. God is alive and well in the hearts of a majority of Americans and absent about 20% who self identify as liberals. Which is proven by polls that show about 80% of Americans believe in something greater then themselves and liberals believe the government is God, it is NOT!

    • penguin2

on people’s faces. We are a spiritual people; all the goodness that America embodies, is in her heart. That can only be there if there is light in our minds, not darkness. A statist view is dependency, not independence and freedom.

God’s Blessings on you and yours, Jaded. Looking forward to pushing back some more shadows in the 112th Congress. :)

Because so many times our hearts are sore and our heads are just bangin’ with worry, with despair– not just as what the lefties are doing daily, but at what our own side does as well.

And then you write a beautiful piece like this, with the videos that your heart chose to share, and we know moments of peace. We know, again, that He is with us and that if that is so, then we cannot fail. For a bird with such short little wings that cannot fly, you sure know how to uplift everyone else and show us how to soar!

Merry Christmas, penguin. May your season be bright with love, warm with laughter, and, in the hushed moments that you contemplate His love for us, aglow with the peace that passes all understanding. Thank you for being you.

    • penguin2

Yes, these moments are so important. No matter how the world intrudes with the concerns that face us daily, it is when we stop and allow ourselves to accept that which He offers, even in the simpleness of a woodland scene or the busyness of a mall foodcourt – well, it brings me peace and hope….

As far as those flightless birds….no one can see them without having a cheerful thought. IMHO.

Merry Christmas to you and yours. God’s Blessings for the New Year.

I love to see pretty things like this. I believe that this is the only thing I need to see on the internet today. Signing off! Thank you!

    • penguin2

that is why this type of post came to me. I know there is darkness out there, shadows we fight all the time; but in order to fight it, we have to have light, and goodness and a lifted spirit to go forth.

Merry Christmas to you and Blessings in the New Year.

A treasure to read and reflect upon through the coming days and weeks as we go through this holiday season.

Thank you for the very inspiring and uplifting words and music, scenes of natural beauty and the spirit of goodwill … touching and joyful reminders of how blessed we are to live in a land of such abundance and freedom – the greatest nation on the planet – and worth fighting any foe to preserve.

A Merry and Blessed Christmas to you and yours.

    Thank you.

  • ocleverone

What a beautiful post. Merry Christmas, my friend.

May God’s grace always shine on your beautiful soul.

    • penguin2

You know me, always trying to find the positive to go forth. When my son sent me that first video, it gave me an initial idea, but I didn’t know where it would “go.” Then the other video gave me the closure, but still, what to put in the middle….and then the political discourse post-election helped form the center. These are tough roads we travel, but it helps to be with wonderful people like you, ocleverone.

God’s Blessings on you and your family, and Happy New Year.

And just to show that great minds run in the same channels…those two songs are my new ringtones!!

    This was beautiful.

When you see things like this, and a million other small acts of goodness, you know — you do not think, you KNOW — that the greatness of the American spirit remains unbent. Spawned by great men like George Washington, James Madison, Thomas Jefferson, and Patrick Henry, and blessed by the Most High, that spirit remains and even flourishes today.

We are not defined by Hollywood, the professionally offended industry,or by DC. We are not a nation of mean people, bitter clingers, bigots, or greedy tycoons. We are defined by D-Day, by the Berlin airlift, by the millions upon millions of dollars donated, practically unbidden, in the wake of the 2004 tsunami. We are that city on a hill, the place where freedom reigns, the world’s last best hope for the liberation of mankind.

And when you see The Hallelujah Chorus done in the food court and you are the faces of the watchers, you know.

    You know.

    Nicely done, Lady Penguin.

    • penguin2

still resides in so many Americans. We’ve been called to reach deep inside and go forward to preserve this nation for future generations. As long we understand what the American heart is, and where the foundation of our freedom and liberty came from – Judaic-Christian principles, we can persevere.

      Merry Christmas to you, EPU.

Maybe this is how it starts.

    great post. Merry Christmas.

    • penguin2

spontaneous crowd (Korea?). He has had so many wonderful things to tell us, including how to use the resources we have to achieve our goals, but always noting the fixed star in the universe and the principles that cannot be moved.

Thank you, and Merry Christmas to you, and your family.

  • JadedByPolitics

you are most definitely made of teh AWESOME :)

  • Castor

    Your post is a collector

    • penguin2

Sometimes it is hard to keep things in perspective, especially when we are surrounded by so much that would impair our vision.

Merry Christmas to you, and yours. God Bless.

  • klondike

“The Founding Fathers gave the nation a fixed star – our Constitution.”

    Beautifully said, Lady P.

And then you couple it with this:

“Because of that fixed Star in the Heavens. We are centered. We move toward the light, and keep the darkness at bay. … A moment of Light, in a life that may be difficult, matching the beauty of God

    • penguin2

Thank you for your kind words. We are capable of great good if we stay focused on a fixed star. The Founding Fathers believed it, and tried to pass it on to us. We seek to pass it on to the next generation. It can be done by a principled and humble people.

Blessings to you, and your family, Klondike.

  • runner12

Thank your for sharing it with us. One of my best friends was at one of our local malls in the food court recently and got to see a group of people sing Handel’s Hallelujah Chorus just like they did on YouTube. She said is was amazing. I was so jealous! Merry Christmas!

  • chbroussard

Thank you for this wonderful diary. How can anyone look at these beautiful pictures and not believe that there is an Almighty God. May He continue to bless this country and those that fight to preserve her.

    Merry Christmas to everyone.

  • redneck_hippie

and just the touch my spirit needed. You can’t go wrong with Handel, or snow scenes, or America, or God.

    • penguin2

with Handel, or snow scenes, or America, or God.” Beautiful.

Merry Christmas, and God Bless you, redneck. And may the New Year be better than the old one!

  • DefendUSA

I wish everyone could get that feeling that you see! When my Grampa used to take me to church, I would get all weepy even at age 7 because the singing represented so much joy and I felt it.

    Merry Christmas!!

  • isabella2

Penguin2, your words are so true and filled with love for our country. We will pray that our nation will indeed be “One nation under God “. 2011 is a year we must all work to regain.

    • penguin2

Yes, the best thing to do is to take these moments and hold onto them for sustenance, especially considering the fight ahead.
