Here We Go: Trump Attacks Oprah

The idea of Oprah Winfrey running in 2020 against Donald Trump has been in the ether for a while. Especially, since her speech at the Golden Globes last month.

While Oprah has dismissed the possibility of a presidential run, it hasn’t stopped the media and others from hypothesizing about it. For her part, Oprah has said she hasn’t been called — by God (not on a phone, dolts) — to run for office and has no plans to do so.

This, apparently, hasn’t stopped Trump from stewing over the idea of Winfrey giving him a run for his money (and celebrity status) in 2020.

Trump tweeted late Sunday:

“Just watched a very insecure Oprah Winfrey, who at one point I knew very well, interview a panel of people on 60 Minutes. The questions were biased and slanted, the facts incorrect. Hope Oprah runs so she can be exposed and defeated just like all of the others!”

If there is anything in the world further from the truth, it’s the idea that Oprah Winfrey is insecure.

Far from being born to a certain amount of New York City affluence, Winfrey was born to a single mother in the Deep South, who had to leave her in the care of her grandmother for much of her early childhood.

She was later molested as a teen. Before graduating high school, Winfrey became pregnant with her only child, who ultimately died shortly after birth.

From those ashes, Oprah Winfrey excelled in high school and college. She became must-see television in the 80’s and 90’s, and retired on her own terms.

The idea that Oprah is insecure or in need of attention like Trump is, is laughable.

Oprah doesn’t need to run. Trump’s tweet proves she’s bested him already.
