MEMBER DIARY

The Funny, Funny Man, We Know As Senator Kerry.

SEN. JOHN KERRY: “And I have to tell you, I say this to you politely. The media in America has a bigger responsibility than it’s exercising today. The media has got to begin to not give equal time or equal balance to an absolutely absurd notion just because somebody asserts it or simply because somebody says something which everybody knows is not factual.”

(RealClearPolitics.com)

People tuning into Joe Scarborough on MSNBC (all twelve or thirteen of them) had to be pleasantly surprised when Scarborough decided to inaugurate “Comedy Clips.” This addition to his always scintillating “Morning Joe” Show allows up-and-coming stand-up talent to present their routines to whatever audience actually tunes in to MSNBC. There was just one minor glitch. John Kerry actually meant what he was saying. He maunders forward with his call for censorship against his ideological opponents in the Tea Party.

“It doesn’t deserve the same credit as a legitimate idea about what you do. And the problem is everything is put into this tit-for-tat equal battle and America is losing any sense of what’s real, of who’s accountable, of who is not accountable, of who’s real, who isn’t, who’s serious, who isn’t?”

Well Kerry, Old Bean, I hate to rock that yacht that you used to dock in Rhode Island to avoid paying your taxes on it. But here’s the straight poop. Everybody who is corporeal is also real. This still kinda’-sorta’ remains America, Mein Obama’s best efforts notwithstanding.

And contrary to your condescending jibe, Senator Kerry, these people are remarkably serious. Senator Marco Rubio perhaps briefly pierced your imperial smug cloud the other day. He was totally serious when he explained that he’d “Expect Obama’s Class Warfare Rhetoric From a Third World Leader.”

And yet this morning, you who aspired to the same job that Barack Obama actually succeeded in landing, can do no better than to ride fecklessly into the same heap of dung as one of your betters. The whole riff about who’s accountable and who’s not accountable is beneath the contempt of decent humanity. You, Senator Kerry, are a blind and unaccountable fop. Let me show you who is accountable and got hung out to dry yesterday.

People Experiencing More Reality Than Senator Kerry

If Your Money Is Here, You Have More Responsibility Than John Kerry

This means anyone with a retirement account or an investment portfolio is being held accountable. They are accountable in a way that foppish dandies who marry rich, old widows simply do not and cannot properly comprehend. And in case you want to put that notion to your infamous “Global Test”, here ya’ go.

The Grades For Sen. Kerry's Global Test

Everybody around the world is real, responsible and about to get a whole lot more serious. They will be far more serious than you and your co-failures in the Senate who have spent the last 800 days failing to pass a budget.

This gets us to the real and very serious reason Senator Kerry wants to shut those noisy Tea Partiers up once and for all. He hates and fears the very accountability that he rails about to Joe Scarborough. God forbid that the peasants that patrician rakes like Senator Kerry screw against the wall in a detached and off-handed matter ever have their voices heard when the “real decisions” get made.

as Orwell noted, Totalitarianism and its quashing of free thought and expression ALWAYS originates from the Left. Without exception, each and every time.

When you can’t win an argument you have to win to survive, the only recourse is to keep the other side from being heard. And when this equine fop made the mistake of condescending to Rubio the other day, he was gently but firmly reminded why he does not merit a seat at the table where serious men and women work to undo the damage those like him have fostered.

We weren’t hip deep or more with subversion during the cold war Kerry would have been tried for treason/subversion in the 1970′s and never been able to hold pubic office from the disgrace of it etc…

      • msctex

They lack that capacity; it is among the results of substituting Pragmatism for Reason. He would quite likely have waved the “disgrace” you cite as a banner, and it might well have worked. Hell, he was probably actively attempting to bring down on himself what you put forth as punishment.

You should be right, and I wish you were. But there are reasons we find ourselves where we do, and these sorts of breaks with Reality are high among them.

no, according to Talking Points Memo, the Debt Ceiling deal was sort of like a budget so the Senate has passed a budget. . . . . . . I thought it was one of the dumbest and most intentionally obtuse “analyses” I’ve ever read too.

          • Repair_Man_Jack

Revenue sources, RoR on projects, but they do have this committee thinga-a-majigy to deal w/ that stuff later. They passed a budget!

          • earlgrey

that would call Kerry out on his words promoting censorship of the conservative ideas. Or am I asking too much?

          • Repair_Man_Jack

Although it does complicate the lives of a Kerry, Frank or whomever when the GOP has the temerity to oppose them and force them out on the hustings in the cold, Fall weather every now and again.

reThuglicans. . . . . . . I don’t know why I get a kick out of reading TPM, but I do. Especially the comments section. very unhinged, rather bitter group of people.

As pointed out, Kerry doesn’t get the joke. If his desired plan were implemented, he would be the first casualty – well, maybe the 2d after Biden.

believe in Freedom of Speech. Well unless your saying the same thing they are. Then of course it’s OK. Typical Leftists.

Kerry knows we are a threat and not the GOP in this state. The GOP needs to look this way now to prevent a liberal Republican choice. We are trying to take over but it is going to be a long hard struggle without any outside help.

Everyone in DC knew that the debt ceiling had to be raised. They knew it because it was their talking point, beyond which they were not willing to think.

But Kerry continues to use the word “default”, as if the US government not wanting to spend money on everything it wants would be a default. No, the only default would be if we decided not to pay the interest on our bonds, or decided not to allow them to be redeemed when mature.

In fact, not raising the debt limit would only result in difficult choices for spending priorities.

I’d be all in favor of the media not giving equal time to the absurd notions that the Democrats abuse us with on a daily basis.

Oh, that wasn’t what you were thinking? When’s the last time you had a legitimate idea; when’s the last time you were held accountable? Never?

Well, then. By your own words you need to STFU already.

  • smitch61

I have always disliked Kerry more. We would have been where we are just a bit sooner with this bafoon had he managed to snag the presidency. He is a sly, sneak, slime of a man who rarely has a smile on his face.

    • smitch61

in regard to the lack of smiley on his face… just an observation.
