“It seems unjust to me that someone would be charged when they were protecting their family,” state Sen. Shawn Keough, R-Sandpoint, said after the hearing. “I’m at a loss to understand why the U.S. government is pursuing this in the manner they are.”
Let me break this down for Representative Keough. I’ll be blunt here, but without any disrespect intended. Jeremy M. Hill, a US Citizen, from Northern Idaho, shot and killed a female grizzly bear which had entered his backyard while two of his children were playing. This forced the US Government to choose whether it valued the grizzly bear more or two children of a US citizen, who happened to live in a Conservative, rural county.
So the OR geek runs the numbers, and determines there’s about a p=0.75 that Mr. Hill voted against Barack Obama. At that point the current USG believes $50,000 and 1 year of prison for shooting an endangered species is condign punishment for not being liberal. It doesn’t even begin to address the loss of the precious grizzly bear. Mr. Hill is therefore having the book thrown at him. The grizzly, as far as Liberal Democrats are concerned, was supposed to eat Mr. Hill’s kids. Predators do keep the balance.
At this point you have to be wondering. Who sprinkled the PCP in Repair_Man_Jack’s Cheerios? The government doesn’t actually hate people like Mr. Hill. Mr. Hill can hold a job. He produces revenue. They may not respect him, but they can fill a whole bunch of EBT Cards by milking the poor, foolish herd of tax-paying bovines.
But no; you would be wrong. Let me explain to you what the Left under Barack Obama thinks of rural, Conservatives as human beings. We give you the rational and open-minded Congressman Andre Carson. He offers us a bright and shining example of the typical American Liberal.
Rep. Andre Carson, a Democrat from Indiana who serves as the CBC’s chief vote counter, said at a CBC event in Miami that some in Congress would “love to see us as second-class citizens” and “some of them in Congress right now of this tea party movement would love to see you and me…hanging on a tree.” Carson also said the tea party is stopping change in Congress, likening it to “the effort that we’re seeing of Jim Crow.”
But that’s just one idiot, Repair_Man, you can’t judge all liberals by the words of Congressman Carson. He is uniquely qualified to represent citizens from the Lower Quartile in intellect and achievement in Congress. He, like no other member of Congress since Senator Earnest Hollings retired, can empathize with what it is like to be stupid on a daily basis.
Yes, that is just one idiot. However, I don’t have to go any further than my daily list of blog-reads to get you several more. Instapundit links me to the latest smear being waged against GOP Candidate Michele Bachmann.
Bachmann attended a Christian Musical festival in Iowa on a rainy day in August. During the festival, Bachmann gave a speech. She made a fairly lame and inoffensive attempt at humor. “Who likes wet people?” She inquired of the crowd. The left-wing smear machine then launched into overdrive.
An edited video immediately surfaced that made it appear that Congresswoman Bachmann asked “Who likes white people?” This travesty was quickly set straight when an unedited video from the festival came into the public domain. Yet, even as the truth put on its boots, Michelle Castillo of the always fake, but accurate NBC News wasted no time in spreading the dishonesty.
Stacy McCain describes the utter chicanery below.
Castillo writes: Everything that comes out of Michele Bachmann’s mouth is gold. A new video has her asking a crowd of people, “Who likes white people?” It doesn’t make any sense, so many explanations are surfacing from “White People Soul Power” being the band that played before, to the fact it was raining and Bachmann is asking about “wet” people.
My first thought was to search the actual concert manifest for White People Soul Power. Here is the Main Stage performer list. Here is 99.5FM The Pulse Rock Stage performance manifest. The Tent Stage featured the following artists. The Truth Talk Stage featured mostly revival preaching, rather than musical acts.
Help me out here. I can’t seem to find where The White People Soul Power Band ever performed. Does anyone have a manifest for the Crazed White Racist Stage? Oh, that’s right, apparently there wasn’t one. I’m sure glad that these baseless and malicious accusations weren’t leveled against anyone nice and sensitive like Maxine Waters.
And that “Go to Hell” sentiment voiced by Congresswoman Waters is not just a liberal taking point. It’s not just posturing. Just recently, the United States Government had a choice to make. A man in Northern Idaho saw two of his children being menaced by a grizzly bear in his own backyard. He grabbed a gun and shot the bear. I have no knowledge whether Mr. Jeremy Hill has attended a Tea Party rally or convention. One thing I can say for sure is that the liberals who currently run Washington, DC are doing everything in their power to make sure this man’s life turns into a living hell.

White Christians, their religion, language, culture, customs, and history, are the targets for destruction. I do mean destruction: look at your kids’ school books and see what they’re learning about their history. Anything you recognize? lineholder (Diary) Wednesday, August 31st at 11:35AM EDT (link)for folks like Sen. Keough to take off the proverbial blinders, but I pray to God that it happens soon.
The left desires power above all else. Not power for the people or of the people, but power to control the people. They want power to control our society as a whole. Policy decisions and economics are just a means to an end to achieve their goal.
But when human beings allow themselves to become that consumed by a desire for power, it can definitely bring out the darker side of human nature. As long as they get what they want and have things their own way, the situation remains relatively peaceful. When they don’t get what they want and have things their own way, that’s when elements of human nature such as malice (being the desire to do harm) and vengeance (being the desire to make someone else suffer) kick into play in the situation.
And of course, the person or persons who allow this darker side of human nature to get the better of them can’t just acknowledge openly that they are being malicious or vengeful. They have to project the responsibility for their actions onto someone else, such as conveying and implying that conservatives in general and the TEA party in particular are responsible.
The point is that you can’t just give them the benefit of the doubt when they get sucked into a lust or desire for power and/or control. You can’t just believe what they tell you to believe. It just isn’t wise to be that naive.
You have to watch them like hawks and question what they do and say every inch of the way.

My thoughts on power:
davesinsanantonio (Diary) Thursday, September 1st at 6:13AM EDT (link)Power is not only the “great aphrodisiac”, it is also one of the strongest and most addictive of temptations. Of course it corrupts, but it also appeals to the ego in saying to the individual who seeks it, “yes, but I am strong enough to not be corrupted”. So, the one most corrupted by the lure of power convinces himself, or herself, that “not only am I the best because I cannot be corrupted; but also I am smart enough to not be caught; and I am so needed in power that I cannot leave it, or it will fail without me.” How delicious power is to those who crave it. And having some, but not as much as they crave, is the most corrupting thing of all!

Once upon a time
ashland_avenue (Diary) Wednesday, August 31st at 11:45AM EDT (link)Once upon a time, long ago and far away I was married to a left-handed woman. She wasnt really left handed but you get the idea.
Around the last Presidential election, she and her friends were sending around emails about how wonderful it would be if they all formed a new country, and jetissoned the Red States.
They could have the Metropolitan Museum, the New Yorker, most of the Ivy’s and (from their point of view) virtually all the Smart People.
We would have the Farm Belt, the mines and wells and hard scrabble folk of New Deal photos.
They weren’t laughing in the last election with the rise of Tea Party events and tectonic shifts in Congress.
Not a few of them live on interest from savings on moneys their parents/grandparents or former spouses made. None of them are pleased with prospect of two more years of zero risk-free interest rates.
They wanted Health Care for All; they just didnt want to pay for it.
One of them was formerly married to a very successful professional. ‘I want the folks in $1,500 sneakers to pay their fair share,’ she says, with principally him in mind.
When asked whether raising tax rates might slow the economy, doing more harm than good, she says, “It’s just not fair.” When asked whether allowing the market to lift interest rates so that she might have more income she says, “It’s just not fair.”
There is no shortage of left-handed people. More of them are female than male. I have yet to meet one who can maintain a discussion about the pro’s and con’s of various policy choice.
Mostly their responses range between ‘George Bush is a moron,’ and ‘It’s just not fair.’
But the arrogance which led in ’08 to whimsical thoughts of dumping the Red States is gone. They are like the guy in federal Flood Insurance commercials. When asked if they have a plan, their response is
“Do I look like I have a plan?”

banzaibob (Diary) Wednesday, August 31st at 11:59AM EDT (link)I had a similar idea about the red states going their own way.
First form a rock solid Constitution that would leave no room for doubt about its amendments. Among them;
You can carry a gun in public as long as you have taken the proper training classes and you would be responsible for your actions.
Term limits and max time one can serve as an elected official and your benefits can not exceed those of the people.
To pass an amendment, all states would have to approve it.
Low taxes and no welfare.
Strict immagration controls.
When the remaining blue states go broke they can apply for admission to the new country under our terms.
How is that for a plan.

One man was stomped to death and another man nearly killed in a racist amusement called the “knock-out game,” currently being played by black teenagers. The victims were both white, and that fact needs to be raised in our national conversation about race.

Half-brothers Elliott T. Murphy, 18, and Deonta “Fuss” Johnson, 16, were recently convicted of first-degree murder and attempted first-degree murder in the heinous stomping death of 61-year-old Jerry Newingham and the stomping attack of 46-year-old Kevin S. The brutal murder took place in Decatur, IL, a place commonly known as “a classic Midwest USA small city.” They group was playing the “knock-out game.”

rwingmom: A west Texas policeman told me that years ago.
pttx333 (Diary) Thursday, September 1st at 1:01PM EDT (link)As a young mother with small children, we were alone for the night when I heard someone trying to get in the back door. Without turning on any lights, I got up, got the pistol (was a good marksman back in the day) and sat in the dark with the pistol trained on the door. At one point, I thought he had gone away so I crawled to the phone and called the police. He came back and I resumed my position, ready to fire. The police were there right away and told me that if I ever had to shoot someone to drag them into the house because dead men don’t sue! I was shocked that I was told that and have never forgotten it. That was a very frightening night for me … but my children never heard a thing. I’m so happy that I live in Texas!
We got the same advice from the police here in California
westcoastpatriette (Diary) Thursday, September 1st at 1:12PM EDT (link)when I was a kid. pttx333 (Diary) Thursday, September 1st at 1:39PM EDT (link)I have to believe, though, that there are good policemen who would tell you – but it would be in an off-the-record sort of way. Texas is probably different from CA in that, for the most part, we don’t have the PC crowd controlling everything. The large cities (particularly Austin) have been somewhat overtaken with transplants who are PC loons – and very vocal about it, like that is a huge shock. LOL But the smaller and more rural towns are very conservative. I lived in a smaller Hill Country town for a few years not very long ago, and when I attended the first 4th of July parade after moving there, I was amazed at the size of the Republican float. Then here came the dems in a pick-up truck with maybe 10 folks in it waving their flags. Not only that, but all branches of the military were marching in full force with the crowd cheering – no demonstrators of any kind. That particular county votes 90%Republican. Refreshing, isn’t it? Based on things that I have observed down through the years, I am really optimistic about 2012 – I’ve never seen the level of righteous indignation that we have today.
Yes, it's a shame what we've come to.
westcoastpatriette (Diary) Thursday, September 1st at 2:03PM EDT (link)Believe it or not, compared to today–California used to be relatively red. The area I grew up in (So. I am literally sick about what they have done to our state. We are now the laughing stock of the nation. It seems we’re stuck in a rut because the commies have driven away all the revenue producers (over 6,000 businesses have left the state in the last decade.) Fifty percent of the homes where I live are under water. We have approximately 3 million illegals taking jobs, filling up our schools, hospital and jails–and Governor Moonbeam is perched to sign into law a California Dream Act.
Enough of all of that. If the Tea Party doe not rise up and rebel I don’t see a way out. It seems like the people here are in a stupor
and won’t fight back. We’ll see what happens the next election.

romeg Wednesday, August 31st at 1:22PM EDT (link)Would be for the judge in the case to allow the prosecution to put on their case, squander as much taxpayer money as they possibly can in so doing and then, once the prosecution rests and the and counsel for the defense rises and makes a simple motion for a direct verdict of acquittal that the judge simple declares “Motion Sustained” and then launches into to prosecutor for about 45 minutes for malicious prosecution, abuse of process and every other charge he can direct toward the government.
Afterwards he should turn to the accused and offer a profound apology for the abuse he has experienced for the simple act of protecting his family and then encourages him to bring both a civil and criminal action against the prosecution for their abuses.
Failing that outcome then jury nullification is the only course available to the defendant.

davesinsanantonio (Diary) Thursday, September 1st at 6:30AM EDT (link)would be for the grand jury to “no-bill” and tell the prosecutor to not bring it up again!
There have been several, unfortunately not enough, grand juries here in Texas who have refused to indict.
if we gain control of both houses of congress again I will be upset
kyle8 (Diary) Thursday, September 1st at 7:59AM EDT (link)if there are not a lot of congressional hearings and a lot of these tin pot dictators in the regulatory agencies are not called to account.

So I ask...
rattlerjake Thursday, September 1st at 10:55AM EDT (link)What about all the sightseers and photographers that travel to Alaska to “get a glimpse ” of a polar bear. They have armed escorts and Polar bears are protected and Alaska is part of the US, so if they have to shoot one of these bears, WHO GOES TO JAIL? The big difference is that these people are deliberately entering the polar bears environment and possibly forcing a confrontation, yet would not be held responsible for having to kill a bear that feels threatened.
On Carson's statement . . . could they be fearing that some blacks
earlgrey (Diary) Wednesday, August 31st at 1:15PM EDT (link)will move away from the Dem party. There are black tea pariters, black conservatives, and 2 black congressmen with an R behind their name (I will be expecting more after 2012).
I just wonder if some are genuinely scared of losing a small but not insignificant portion of their voting block.
Just a thought.
I Think Carson Spoke His Heart.
Repair_Man_Jack (Diary) Wednesday, August 31st at 1:20PM EDT (link)I consider him honest, but malicious.
Mr. Obama is pretending that an economic “recovery” is underway when he knows damn well that the banking system is just blowing smoke up the shredded *** of what’s left of that economy – James Howard Kunstler
He represents my mom's district
earlgrey (Diary) Wednesday, August 31st at 1:27PM EDT (link)She is too fed up to even bother calling to complain.
Did you know anything about his grandmother, who he inherited that congressional seat from. She was awful. My mom said the D party put up 4 better qualified dems but Andre won out. I told him that is why they got stuck with Andre — 4 better qualified Dems against him.
My mom used to work in the polls in that district too. Lots of issues in other precincts of bused in voters.
And some
gunslingr45 Thursday, September 1st at 11:50AM EDT (link)were bused in from graveyards as I recall.
Carson is full of himself and the only reason they (Carsons) keep the seat is because dems drew the district around center township so they could keep it.
Those who turn their swords into plowshares will plow for those who do not.
I do not own a furnace or a smiths hammer anyway.
Rep. Carson sees a loser
funwithknives Wednesday, August 31st at 2:00PM EDT (link)and give him credit for the recognition of same. He also knows Barry’s record “will not hunt”, in this election. So what is left? Demonization in any form that is perceived to work. This fecal -flinging will continue until localized polling shows no real returns.
‘Till then, expect more of it. We’ve seen 3 instances in 2 weeks, all of it from the CBC’s minions. Rep. West (R.,Fla) joined this outfit, so as to have a voice,so where is some counterpoint?
Next UP: watch for Reps. belonging the Democratic Socialists of America/Socialist International, and their Spew. Don’t most of them also belong to the CBC? Just Askin’?
Just now noted and watched
funwithknives Wednesday, August 31st at 2:06PM EDT (link)Allen West , fox link,8/31 on politico.com. Shoulda’ waited a minute, huh? Sorry,Allen. Now I know better.
Yes, Congressman West is not afraid to speak up.
rickbull Wednesday, August 31st at 11:36PM EDT (link)Not a day goes by when I do not gain even more respect for West (not that he didn’t already have my undying respect when he was running for office). I wish he were my Rep.

yeah, it is amazing how when these politicos
earlgrey (Diary) Thursday, September 1st at 9:26AM EDT (link)do the right thing I find myself closing the day with a donation to their campaign. I dont live in West’s district, but he has been heavily fundraising since his election.
I wonder if the Dems are targeting (oooh am I allowed to say that??) him for 2012.
Defense fund for Jeremy Hill.
Melody Warbington (rwm52) (Diary) Wednesday, August 31st at 1:43PM EDT (link)How much is this going to end up costing up costing him in time and money to hire a lawyer to defend himself, not to mention the waste of taxpayer money?
Wanting to know more details about what happened, I read a couple of accounts online and saw comments ranging from “the parents didn’t know where their children were and were not properly supervising them” to “the bear had rights, too.” I wouldn’t be surprised if they don’t investigate the family for neglect. The left is not only arrogant but ignorant and evil.
More details of what happened are here and here. The second account describes the bail hearing and gives info re a defense fund for Mr. Hill as well as noting that his daughter’s 4H pig was auctioned off 15 consecutive times at the local fair, raising a total of $19,588 and then “Regina” was given back to Jasmine who had raised her. The local GOP is helping the family.
A jury trial has been set for Oct. 4. Hill has been appointed a federal public defender and is free on bond.

Melody Warbington (rwm52) (Diary) Wednesday, August 31st at 1:46PM EDT (link)my first sentence after finding out he as a public defender. Regardless, this is going to cost Hill and his family money, time, stress, etc.

Ignorant, arrogant, and evil
davesinsanantonio (Diary) Thursday, September 1st at 6:38AM EDT (link)is a hard combination to beat. But, that is what this next election, and probably many thereafter, is all about. We really can’t let even one of them succeed, but when all three act in concert then our very survival as a nation and as individuals is what is at stake.
The man who shot the bear did what any common
runner12 (Diary) Wednesday, August 31st at 6:37PM EDT (link)sense person would have done who was trying to protect themselves and their children. After all, if he had come after the bear’s cubs the bear would have gone after him. Does not this man have more rights than a bear? There is no way this holds up in court.
As for Rep. Carson, he should know that every time he disparages an innocent group of people like the Tea Party he hurts himself and the Democratic Party. The Dems cannot claim the Republicans are mean and hateful anymore, we have enough video to replay to show where the real hate lies in this country.
Keep it up Democrats, every time you open your mouth to say something vile about the Tea Party you drive more Independent voters our way.
That's what chainsaws are for.

1stRichard (Diary) Wednesday, August 31st at 8:45PM EDT (link)I was just thinking of this reading a previous post on the far left narrative. The valued grizzly bear is a part of a much larger story and again it is hard to make connections that are totally dumbfounding absurd and it is easy to be caught up in an irrelevant narrative as many do. Placing nature first is a sect of leftist environmentalists that has origins in Marxism

Sometimes you need to put aside being politically correct and fear of Goodwin’s Law, find the roots of the far left narrative and call them out on it. All of those far left narratives have an origin, it is best not to be caught up in the narrative and it is best to attack the root cause.
So they despise rural conservative Americans, eh?

Solution
al003 Thursday, September 1st at 6:52PM EDT (link)Refuse to plead guilty and request a Jury Trial.
When the jury of your peers find you not guilty, and they will, then sue the government for all of your costs plus time and whatever else you can add to the bill.
Then file suit against the Feds who prosecuted you in a Civil Court for damages, because you can win here too.
WELL
promise Monday, September 5th at 7:29PM EDT (link)it is the same ole s—!!!! BUT Maxine Waters asked Obama to tell them WHAT to do at the CBC meeting and since she & all the other gutter slim are obedient zombies, then “the Tea Party can go to hell! And I’m here to send them”, wonderful representives of our nation!!! I don’t care if they are purple, they are mean & nasty human beings!!
