Sweetness, Light, Peace, Love and Democratic Party Labor Day Rallies; One of These Doesn’t Belong.

A Civil Labor Day Rally With President Obama

“President Obama, this is your army. We are ready to march. Let’s take these son of bitches out and give America back to an America where we belong,” Hoffa added.

(HT: Realclearpolitics)*

Ah, the Labor Day Holiday. It’s a chance to unwind and chance to relax. A chance to hit the beach one last time and to call your political opponents son-of a…. Hey! Wait a minute. Weren’t all supposed to be past that. Didn’t the tragic shooting of Gabriella Giffords teach us that we all needed to tone down the harsh, militaristic political rhetoric?

In fact, soon after Congresswoman Giffords was shot in Tucson, President Obama issued us the following civility lecture.

“At a time when we are far too eager to lay the blame for all that ails the world at the feet of those who think differently than we do,” the president said, “it’s important for us to pause for a moment and make sure that we are talking with each other in a way that heals, not a way that wounds.”

But on Labor Day, James Hoffa all but called for the leadership of The Tea Party Movement to take a nice, refreshing dirt nap in The Meadowlands End Zone.** Civility, healing and reason were on the grill getting tortured along with the hot dogs. This was red meat and war. In opposition to his words after Congresswoman Giffords was shot, The White House had no comment regarding Hoffa’s offer to take people out for something other than a nice, cold ice cream cone. This was after President Obama said he was proud of Capo-Regime Hoffa for that rousing introduction.

Of course, it would have been rather awkward for them to comment in light of the commentary offered up by Our Illustrious Vice-President Joe Biden. This was his message of outreach to Middle America yesterday at an AFL-CIO rally. He informed the AFL-CIO that they were the only thing keeping the barbarians from the gates in Washington, DC. It’s a shame those people weren’t on duty in New York where 47 people got shot this weekend. I can’t quite blame Vice President Biden for having an almost Gothic sense of impending, Late Roman Empire Doom lately. I just question whether he’s the best individual to deliver this message.***

So there you have it – The New Civility. If you disagree with the administration on anything, they will take you out. The AFL-CIO promises to be Barack Obama’s army. I’m sure it was just a rhetorical flourish. Just ask Keith Gladney.

That Barack Obama…. He may not be much on the economy, but he can sure put together an awesome Nuremburg Rally. Welcome to the New Civility. It’s a fitting end to our second Recovery Summer.

*- It seems I’ve forgotten what I learned from quoting Al Gore. Any time I quote a leader of America’s Liberal ideology, I now have to delay the quote for a paragraph so that I have time to beep out all the expletives. The blogging gods will hopefully forgive me.

** – A legendary dirt-nap in the shade of the Meadowlands goal-posts is rumored to be a proud part of the Hoffa tradition. If he had said that at a Sarah Palin speech, the FBI would already be digging up dirt.

*** – Joe Biden, combined with the Late Roman Empire, reminds me of a historical theory that the Romans became more enstupidated from drinking water that ran through leaden plumbing. It’s an interesting coincidence that Joe Biden’s speaking ability makes me think of retarded and crazy Roman Emperors who drank lead-poisoned water as kids.

where the “Debbie Does…” reference came from. I can’t believe I did that. So inappropriate of me.

Is rhetoric insanity a legal defense yet?

Must be nice to only make the rules, and not have to live by them.

    Hail Victory!”
That’s basically what Hoffman, I mean Hoffa, was saying.

    • bass_man

I’m surprised they didn’t call the President, “F?hrer”.

Let’s call it: One Brotherhood All Motherhood of America—-or O.B.A.M.A. for short. We will ask all small business people to join and if anyone works at a place where they MUST join a union, then they have a choice. A friend of mine worked at a San Fran TV station and he said there are several unions representing various workers. Most people have brothers and everyone has to , must have a mother. We are not offending anyone or leaving anyone out.

So why would anyone object? How does one go about starting a union? There are so many —- IBEW for electrical workers, IUPAT for painters and trades and on and on.

If SEIU and AFL-CIO get waivers and preferential treatment because they are a union, why can’t we form OBAMA and get the same?

The Tea Party kicked you a** in Wisconsin, and in November 2012 the rest of us will finish the job.

  • athanasiusrc

Hoffa did mention this in the context of voting http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LlbKaPdacLE&feature=player_embedded

Not that I support him or Obama in any way, I just want clarity about what was said.

    • Repair_Man_Jack

and “Don’t bring a knife to a gun fight.” The context makes it ok when they do it.

      • athanasiusrc

The problem is that people are saying he was inciting violence in this case when the actual statement occurred in the context of voting.

We complain that Dems do the same thing about taking comments out of context to “prove” that we are racist / violent / whatever.

I don’t have a problem with either party using war rhetoric when the context is not to incite physical violence. I DO have a problem with both parties making hay out of out-of-context comments.

        • Repair_Man_Jack

but I think your a member of the BHO excuse brigade.

It’s like that photo going around on Facebook and such where Obama is standing with some military people who are saluting something and he is standing there with his hands in front of him. As far as I know no one knows the context of the photo. They just gig him for not having his hand over his heart. There are many instances where he shouldn’t have his hadn over his heart but the military could be saluting. He also could be unaware of the fact that in some situations a civilian might do nothing (as he is) but the “Commander in Chief” should actually salute like the military whether or not he has military training. Context is EVERYTHING, and I think sometimes they put out these pics and quotes on purpose without the context just to get the “Tea Party” riled up so they can then attack us in front of everyone for doing what they already do on a regular basis. Attack without knowing context, so they can call us hatemongers… I for one ALWAYS like to know context and try not to get too enraged until I know there is really something to get enraged about.

          • athanasiusrc

but you would be very, very wrong.

I don’t like things taken out of context by either side but will point it out when it’s done on the right because we should be better than that.

Fight for what you want and *Kick It *,when it looks like you are losing. Once a month, The Detroit News gives James(Labor Voices) a column to spout basically the same line. Barry goes along with this garbage as it delivers his message, without HimSelf saying a word. Progressives want to ‘bring it’, and all we can do is to accomodate them,to the best of our abilities. We have seen the playbook, and what their plans are. So it cannot be said we did not “see it coming” , nor “the time was short”.
Once again, Progressives have given us a massive gift. One huge weakness they have is loving the sounds of their own voices, and we can use this as a lever against them. They’re runnin’ scared and it shows, almost on a daily basis. WHY is this not being used, as frequently, to provide counter-point and choice? We’ve got New Media and Technology as tools, and seemingly they are anathema to The GOP Planners. WHY THE WAITIN’ , Fellas?

        • Ann_W

And that got her no consideration. I think people on the right are just sick to death of the double standard and will point it out because the prevailing voices won’t and it makes you crazy.

    • JSobieski

For the son of a prominent guy who was taken out, Hoffa is quite the terd.

      • funwithknives

I was in my early 20′s and itching for a fight with my bosses. So like the flaming morons children CAN be, I turned to Teamsters /Skilled Trades here in Detroit for assistance.
Went to teamster’s H Q on Trumbull in Down Town Detroit and on my first attempt, was put in front of a local TV crew with James(JR) and my organizer. *T V 2*/{ex-CBS] was doing a piece on The Hoffa Legacy and I was too providencial for words. My back was always to the camera and one take was all it took. Following this, they never followed any requests I made (no black 4-door cars, no dark suits and hats, be nice)and sent 4 cars full of really menacing looking guys, right out of Central Casting, for info lit. drops/handouts. Needless to say, ‘they knew more than me’, and I was fired for taking something out of a garbage can {i e,Theft} no more than one week later. ZERO back-up from Teamsters, and no answers from Good Old James, ever. Who’s the S O B? Then and there, HE was.(Note: every 3 years or so this piece is still used for backround on The Hoffas, when applicable Those WERE the Days, EH?)

10 Mile and Wixom as you know is an entirely different world.

My ex-wife is an unvoluntary member of the NEA. The NEA did a lot to remove her left-wing political tendencies.

she loathed(es) anything conservative or GOP, even though her father was a lifelong GOP-er and was a state rep. (Antrim district)
Eerily, I can spit West a few times and I’m at your place.(8.5/Farm. Rd.)
If you live any where near Toll Bros. development on/near the lake(10 &11Mile) most of that was somehow inspected by my prior employer/me in the late 90′s.Worked in Novi, 8/ ’78–2/2007. My ghost is everywhere ,thereabouts. So watch out for apparitions. You always* leave a little*, behind.

The Left always accuses conservatives of subliminally embedding calls to racism and religious fanaticism in their speeches. They claim that conservatives employ certain code words and “dog whistles” which the extremists will pick up on but others won’t.

Well, Hoffa’s calling on the audience to “take out” the Tea Party is quite a dog whistle to that audience of lusty lefties. Because even Webster’s Dictionary lists “kill” as one of the meanings of “take out.”

  • http://www.ArchitecturalShots.com mdyou

Of course that’s not surprising. But I did see it on an ABC newscast last night.

    • Repair_Man_Jack

I saw this on one of the big three myself. I didn’t note which one. Perhaps I watched the same newscast you did.

  • http://www.ArchitecturalShots.com mdyou

    Enough said.

until his cursing and rhetorical call to violence brought the slugs to their feet.

Well, (all in rhetorical context, you know) we need to beat the living crap out of these vermin.

  • caboose

folks who have a context problem, what part of that Pig F**ker Hoffa’s quote: Lets take out the son of bitches, do you not understand. He called for war and clearly called for his thugs to kill republicans and tea party people.

  • dockywocky

Where has Little Jimmy been? Now, for some reason he’s back on the White House (Obama family) invite list. Possibly some connection to his awful use of derogatory names for Obama lieutenant’s previous attempts to use Hoffa’s Teamsters contacts for ill.

  • runner12

outrageous these statements are. The WH silence is even worse. If Mr. Hoffa thinks that he can bully the American people, he has another thing coming.
