The Democratic Party Continues Alabama’s History of Bigotry And Intolerance

Mr. Darwin, We Have A Counterexample To Your Theory

Segregation now, segregation tomorrow and segregation forever!

– Alabama Governor George C. Wallace’s First Inaugural Address(HT: Brainyquote.com)

Governor George C. Wallace became known as one of the most intolerant men ever in American History when he gave his infamous Schoolhouse Door Speech in which he pledged to block the schoolhouse door to prevent two black students from enrolling at The University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa. This gave the State of Alabama an evil reputation that it continues live down to this day.

Regrettably, the Democratic Party of Alabama has found yet another hate-mongering bigot with whom to embarrass our state before the rest of the nation. His name is Bill Maher, and he has a show entitled “Real Time With Bill Maher” that offers “edgy”’ and “topical” stand-up comedy. Here are some choice examples from a recent program.

“I don’t want to be crass, but I just hope that Marcus Bachmann takes all that, ya know, that rage that comes from repression and denial and brings it into the bedroom with her,” Maron said. “I hope he f*cks her angrily, because that’s how I would. And I’ve thought about it.”

The hilarity continued.

“Just so you don’t get charged with sexism, because only Michele Bachmann was invo[lved] I sometimes think about f*cking the sh*t out of Rick Santorum,” Savage said to cheers. “Just ’cause I think he needs it. It’s not just women we are talking about f*cking. It’s like, ‘let’s bone that Santorum. I’d be up for whipping up some Santorum in Santorum,” Savage added

And just in case you think it’s mean-spirited and Rush-like to equate Bill Maher with Governor Wallace, here’s one more example of Mr. Maher’s comedic genius.

“And before you accuse me of equating the Casey Anthony verdict with Republican thinking — save your breath, I am,” Maher said. “I am. I’m equating them. If you’re a working-class American who still votes Republican then you don’t get to bitch about that verdict.”

If you are a student of primitive human anthropology, and wonder whether The State of Alabama Democratic Party will still give raucous standing ovations to fascist haters, you can join the Alabama Democrats at the Von Braun Center Concert Hall for an evening with the charming and talented Bill Maher. This display of bigotry and vileness reminiscent of the darkest and most shameful days of Alabama’s state history will take place starting at 7PM. Tickets are $100, and donations of bed sheets and crosses to burn (just like the Democrats here did in the good old days) are undoubtedly appreciated. The Democratic Party of Alabama can be reached at 1-(800) 955-3386 for comments.

…that a good portion of Maher’s schtick includes the mocking of Southerners. But I imagine that the audience will be made up of mostly of Carpetbaggers from MICOM, NASA, and Research park, who do not share a common history with the descendants of John Hunt. To be sure there’ll be nary a ’71 Ford pickup truck with a stars and bars bumper sticker in the parking lot on the night of his show.

    • Repair_Man_Jack

That’s why I *enjoy* comparing his bigotry to Wallace’s. Payback, Baby!

      • Juggernaut

he deserves to stay angry all the time.

    • rnorris

This whole article is a joke.
      Maher is a comic period.

If you really watched his show, you’d quickly see
he cares more for the working man then any Republican
      that I have encountered.

      • westcoastpatriette

What are you doing here? This site is for conservatives only.

Maher has put more young women through college than any scholarship program I know. His generosity at strip clubs is infamous. He’s a loser of the highest order.

Your absolutely right, without a doubt.
but the difference is he doesn’t lie about it.

you found that living with principles, morality, and rational thoughts was too difficult, so you took the easy way out and became a Liberal. Now all you care about is how you feel and what you can take from someone else to make yourself feel better about your lack of moral fortitude. Thanks for clarifying your position at the bottom of the totem pole of life.

Perhaps you should rally around the sainthood of serial predator President Clinton or every Liberal’s favorite President Kennedy and keep telling yourself that you care about women.

          • westcoastpatriette

That light you saw must have blinded you into a stupor.

      • funwithknives

        is on you and yours.

If I watched his show? He’s only on HBO and you have to pay extra to witness the drivel he espouses. Why would any Objective Thinker pay good, hard-earned money to watch the product this *Critical Thinker* spews? You,yourself call him a comedian ,yet funny is not even in his top 100. It’s bile and invective 24/7/365.
Never have seen any pithy jokes attributed to Him but we get to hear about the Gar-Bage’ continually. Funny how that works.

Me thinks, what with you watching your Hero so often,{RERUNS TOO?} you ain’t got the time to meet too many Republicans, so it would stand to reason you really do not try. I know tons, Bud and you could not be more wrong . Lots of ‘em hire people and have businesses. How much more caring can you possibly ask for?

if you think Maher is anything but a vile misogynist.

But don’t take my word for it. Take Kirsten Powers’ (a Democrat no less).

        From her article here:

But the grand pooh-bah of media misogyny is without a doubt Bill Maher?who also happens to be a favorite of liberals?who has given $1 million to President Obama?s super PAC. Maher has called Palin a ?dumb twat? and dropped the C-word in describing the former Alaska governor. He called Palin and Congresswoman Bachmann ?boobs? and ?two bimbos.? He said of the former vice-presidential candidate, ?She is not a mean girl. She is a crazy girl with mean ideas.? He recently made a joke about Rick Santorum?s wife using a vibrator. Imagine now the same joke during the 2008 primary with Michelle Obama?s name in it, and tell me that he would still have a job. Maher said of a woman who was harassed while breast-feeding at an Applebee?s, ?Don’t show me your tits!? as though a woman feeding her child is trying to flash Maher. (Here?s a way to solve his problem: don?t stare at a strangers? breasts). Then, his coup de gr?ce: ?And by the way, there is a place where breasts and food do go together. It?s called Hooters!?

Liberals?you know, the people who say they ?fight for women??comprise Maher?s audience, and a parade of high-profile liberals make up his guest list. Yet have any of them confronted him? Nope. That was left to Ann Coulter, who actually called Maher a misogynist to his face, an opportunity that feminist icon Gloria Steinem failed to take when she appeared on his show in 2011.

And apparently, Obama, his admin and many Dems have no problem with Maher’s comments. They’re quite willing to take his money.

        From the story here:

Just last week, a Priorities USA senior official publicly boasted about Mr. Maher?s support for their efforts. In a great irony, Priorities USA official Paul Begala wrote the following in a fundraising appeal:

?In case you missed it, last week, comedian Bill Maher pledged ONE MILLION DOLLARS to us at Priorities USA Action to help fight back against the right-wing money machine. Needless to say, we are thrilled. Bill’s commitment to fighting intolerance, extremism and right-wing hate (which is redundant, I know), is legendary. And now he is putting his money where his mouth is.? (Priorities USA Fundraising Appeal attached)

Funny they have a problem with Rush Limbaugh’s comment, but nary a word about Maher’s filthy mouth.

Better enjoy us while you can. I don’t see you lasting very long around here.

      • Finrod

His top billing was in Cannibal Women In The Avocado Jungle of Death.

        ?If you?re a working-class American who still votes Republican ? you?re stupid?
        — Bill Maher

All I’ve heard from Maher is the old Marxist “false consciousness” claptrap, which you liberals have now absorbed by osmosis: That the working class allegedly votes against their own self-interest because they vote for other (non-economic) issues like guns and religion (who else said something like that?)

Of course, you liberals would NEVER vote on non-economic issues. You would NEVER vote based on gay marriage or ending the war in Iraq or abortion rights, right? EMILY’s List isn’t about abortion rights but paychecks?

        Go away.
Come back when you can have an informed conversation.

Liberals are the joke sucking up to such an anti-semetic, anti-christian bigoted woman hating degenerate pig. Maher is lower class and his job is vulnerable.

I’ve never seen a democrat who actually cares more than any republican, in fact the gop teach personal responsibility…something people like you don’t understand.

Maher hasn’t been a comedian in a long time! And he sucks!

      Times change.
Any Alabamans who are under the age of 50 today, were born after Wallace made his infamous speech.

Unlike Wallace, Maher wasn’t born and raised in Alabama.

He was born in New York City, which became famous for the anti-Semitic pogrom instigated by Al Sharpton in 1991:

We spoke to each other about 10 minutes. I introduced myself and told him I wanted to get some information about the Bill Maher fundraiser. He asked what I was talking about, at which point I laughed and asked him not to play dumb. He played the game of semantics in saying the AL Dem Party was not advertising the event, that it was not a fundraiser and that they were not promoting the event. He really played dumb and asked me what site I was looking at (which was the flyer that said paid for by the AL Dem Party with a link directly to their website but has now been removed).

He tried to move the conversation to Rush, so I told him Ms. Fluke invited commentary on her sex life when she spoke at Ms. Pelosi’s presser and asked for her bc to be subsidized. He objected to Rush’s comments being on the public airwaves, so I asked if it really made any difference that Maher made his comments on HBO.

He tried to move the conversation to Newt by saying Newt had maligned “many” women. I asked him who and he started in on Newt’s marriages, so I told him that at best, it was he said/she said situation, and that he had no proof Newt had not apologized or that that he asked for an open marriage, but that Maher’s words were on video for all the world to see.

He insisted the event was not a fundraiser, which technically may be correct, and that it wasn’t an ad for the event. I told him he was playing semantics and getting into the Clinton territory of what does is mean.

I eventually asked him a couple of simple yes or no questions. Does the AL Dem Party approve of the despicable word which the misogynist Bill Maher used to describe Sarah Palin? Does the AL Dem Party have no problem associating itself with a man like Bill Maher who has a history of making vile remarks about women? He said that personally he did, but he could not speak for the AL Dem Party, and he refused to answer until they had a chance to discuss the matter. I told him it was past time they had a conversation about it, and that the association was doing a great disservice to their party and the women in Alabama.

I see they’ve removed the flyer from their website today, but over at National Review, they saved the URL and have a copy of the “flyer.”

Yeah, I saw that. I was going to do a photoshop job w/ Maher right next to Gov. Wallace but couldn’t get it to quite click. Keep at it, and we can irradiate people like Bill Maher….

I love it when libs squirm/wiggle when confronted and try to diminish any counter argument by deflecting and changing the subject, since they seem incapable of intelligent debate such as the example of what I’ve seen on this thread and by Maher especially.

I just can’t understand how any intelligent and honest person could swallow such a hateful stream of bile from one person (who seems to lacking in the ability, character, or strength to do otherwise) and then throw a hissy fit when another person does the same thing.

Maher is an atheist who uses those horrible terms to talk about women, and encourages promiscuity. Rush is rude from time to time, but as you point out, Fluke is a single woman who did talk publicly about contraception in a political venue, seems to have no problem with the use of contraception to facilitate sex, and did open herself up for ridicule. I don’t think that there is anything Michelle Bachmann or Sarah Palin have said in public that would open them up to equivalent ridicule. They both promote responsible relationships within the context of marriage, are both married (unlike Fluke) so they know what they are talking about in terms of the commitment it takes to raise a family and appropriately use the Lord’s gift of physical intimacy. I, for one, am glad to see our side taking a stand on both religious freedom – and yes, contraception – including the important truth that religion and the social order that comes with religion frees human beings to live more fullfilled lives in Christ.

And there is definitely a parallel to Democrat oppression of the blacks under Wallace and the Democrat oppression of women, the way they objectify them and manipulate them and claim that somehow they have their best interests at heart. It is the worst sort of patronizing to treat women is if we are all exactly alike.

And a good number of blacks in Alabama reject the gay rights agenda, and the false promise of government hand-outs that denegrate those who receive them. In all seriousness, maybe there needs to be a version of Atlas Shrugged filmed in the South, showing the struggle of a black entreperneur like Herbet Cain, who realizes that progress only comes from within and only from character, not from assistance.

  • runner12

He does not get a pass because he is a “comedian.” I use the term comedian very loosely to describe Maher because in order to be a comedian, one has to be funny. Maher is not funny and never has been. All he does is say the most disgusting and hateful thing he can think of and call it comedy.

What hypocrites these Democrats are. Kudos to the Conservative New Media for pointing it out and bringing attention to it. The days of us letting the old liberal media control the narrative are starting to wane.

I think Breitbart would be proud.
