Just in case you were bored enough to wonder, Van Jones has not assisted the carbon cycle yet by assuming room temperature. On 17 February, 2013, we had a confirmed sitting on the Capitol Mall. He was there to frolic in front of an adoring 35,000 person crowd at the “Forward on Climate” March. In case you wondered whether he was as think as you stoned he was, he offered us the following remarks about why he wanted Barack Obama to kill the Keystone Pipeline. So he may not be as prominent, but the man remains a deracinated menace to the future.
“I think we should take the president at his word, but make him honor his word,” Jones said. “This pipeline, if it goes through—the first thing that the pipeline runs over is the credibility of the president of the United States. That’s the first thing it runs over. He said that he’s not going to let us be a generation that cooks the earth.” Jones continued: “If we lose, we lose everything. We’re fighting for the children of all species. This isn’t just a fight about Democrats versus Republicans in the United States. The children of all species forever are going to be impacted by what we do in this town for the next twelve to twenty-four months.
I’m relieved to learn he’s not in favor of cooking the earth and is up there fighting for the children of every species. Not bad for a guy who as recently as 2009 was invited to retool his resume after being cashiered by Barack Obama from his utter do-nothing job as Green Jobs Czar. This is of course, the same Van Jones that publically admitted that he and other members of the Green Movement just issued Barack Obama an intentional walk over the entire Deepwater Horizon spill in the Gulf of Mexico.
This guy has actually managed to have worse career prospects than Senator Menendez.* How could this guy be a threat to anything? Well, he personally doesn’t amount to much. However, there’s the fact that he can be this feckless, this utterly daft, and still draw 30,000 and get ink from sympathetic journalists. Featuring Van Jones at an environmental is about the equivalent of keeping Vanilla Ice in the top rotation of a Top 40 Station.
It’s the fact that he keeps receiving support decades after he’s been debunked. This is the threat of the environmental movement. No matter how badly debunked, no matter how utterly humiliated, no matter to what extent they are revealed to be disingenuous frauds mooching off the public dime, the environmental movement still gets it’s “science” funded by the federal government. The Soviets gave up on Lysenko earlier than the American Left was willing to acknowledge that Michael Mann and James Hanson were not legitimately accurate scientists. Michael Mann and PSU received grants from the 2009 Stimulus Bill.
So those of us who care whether or not whether the United States has a future as an industrialized nation fight these idiots. The Center For Industrial Progress counter-demonstrated the idiots at “Forward on Climate.” They explained quite succinctly that Anti-Fossil + Anti-Nuclear = Pro-Blackout. These people remind me of Susan Estrich who discovered after the election that Barack Obama that her taxes would go up and that then she didn’t like it. As long as they vote for Barack and keep real and to the left, the blackouts and hyper-expensive gasoline are presumably going to happen to other less liberal white people.
This level of persistent delusion amongst the so-called friends of the environment allows even addle-pated mediocrities like Van Jones to maintain a following. Even worse this allows people like Van Jones the opportunity to make decisions that actually impact the lives of honest, working adults. This unreality, this refusal to admit that the environmental agenda, no matter how cool it makes you with “The Red Hot Chili Peppers;” is economically suicidal to people who don’t live in mansions with heated swimming pools. It threatens the future of children of every species far more than the Keystone Pipeline or even the worst and most un-ecological Congolese or Rwandan blood diamond mine.

Share on Facebook 1 1 SHARES In the Obama years of the Department of Homeland Security, a lot of questionable things have gone on. For example, as we’ve noted before, the DHS shut down an investigation into the terrorists who would eventually launch a deadly terror-related shooting in San Bernardino, California. We know this and more thanks to Philip Haney, a whistleblower that has made | Read More »
