Over the course of Joe Biden’s two and a half years in office – the last couple of months especially, there has been a lot of talk in conservative circles about what many call a “two-tiered system of justice” in this country.

Considering how former President Donald Trump has been indicted in the classified documents probe while Hillary Clinton skated over the private email server scandal and officials looked the other way when it was discovered that Joe Biden had classified documents scattered in numerous places including in his garage, Biden’s critics – like House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) – may have a point on the matter.

News that broke Tuesday on the Hunter Biden plea deal only further proved the point in the minds of those same Republicans, with some calling it a “sweetheart deal” where the infamously troubled son of the President of the United States will face no jail time whatsoever after pleading guilty to two misdemeanor tax charges and agreeing “to a pre-trial diversion for a gun charge that could have sent him to prison for years.”

Tucker Carlson is one of those prominent conservatives who has talked before about the “two-tiered system of justice,” so it’s no surprise that he’s now weighing in on the news, detailing Hunter Biden’s troubling history and pointing out that though the media and Democrats want you to think otherwise that, “there has long been overwhelming evidence that Joe and Hunter Biden’s financial lives are not separate at all but deeply intertwined.”

Carlson also noted that Trump himself predicted this would happen, and also explained how being the POTUS’ son comes with an with an awful lot of perks, including the ability to be let off the hook for things you and I most certainly would not be:

“Donald Trump had an idea: ‘They’ll hit Hunter with something small to make their strike on me look fair.’ Trump wrote that about two weeks ago. And it turned out those were prescient words. This morning, Hunter Biden pleaded guilty to pretty much nothing. Biden pled to two misdemeanor tax evasion charges, then entered a diversion on a federal gun charge. That’s it. As far as Merrick Garland’s Justice Department is concerned, Hunter Biden is done. There was no pre-dawn raid carried live simultaneously on CNN. There was no perp walk, no handcuffs, no press conference. Above all, there was no felony. Hunter Biden, who broke federal gun laws, can still carry a gun. It’s like it all never happened. In fact, the Justice Department just baptized Hunter Biden, a lifetime of sins washed away in an instant.”

“In the meantime, though, the question is what can we learn from Hunter Biden’s plea deal today? First off, the obvious: For the children of the people in charge, there are no penalties, there are only upsides. They’re princelings. They can do what they want. You are not. Therefore you can’t. So don’t get any ideas about cheating on your taxes or violating federal gun laws unless you want to celebrate next year’s Father’s Day through the glass of the visitor’s room. The rules definitely apply to you, including rules you don’t yet know exist.”

“The rules definitely apply to you, including rules you don’t yet know exist.” But to Democrats in power, members of their families, and their political allies? Not so much.
