So, Guess What? Science is Now Racist

First poor Pluto was booted from planet-dom for what I can only assume was size-ism. Now, it has been discovered that science itself is racist. I wonder if we’ll have to change the phrase “the science is settled” to “the racist science is settled”? Good thing we have the NAACP to keep us abreast of such things, as they did recently with a Hallmark graduation card. Let’s see what the objectionable card says. And by objectionable, I, of course, mean not objectionable in the slightest:

The Hallmark card reads, “Hey world, we are officially putting you on notice,” before playfully touting the ambitious future of the new graduate.

Characters known as “Hoops” and “Yoyo” banter on: “And you black holes, you are so ominous. Watch your back.”

Yet, here is what the NAACP insanely objects to:

But members of the Los Angeles NAACP say the message sounds like “black whore” in the card’s audio recording. That’s how they hear it, and they say it’s racist,  KABC-TV in Los Angeles reported.

“That was very demeaning to African-American women when it made reference to African-American women as whores, and at the end it says ‘watch your back,’” said Leon Jenkins of the Los Angeles NAACP.

No, really. They even shamelessly said it on camera! (video after the jump)

Via Hot Air:

May as well have slapped the words “on RACIST notice” on the front of the dastardly card. And featured a picture of a burning cross! You know who I blame? Of course you do. George Bush. Probably global warming, too.

Sheesh, evil Hallmark™, how dare you nefariously make a card celebrating the ‘take on the world” attitude that many graduates have? And try to tie it in to science-y things like the universe and black holes? Oh, the horror. I’m also fairly certain that these Hoops and Yoyo characters are both male, thus, this card is also totally sexist. Hello, misogyny!

Silly me; I didn’t realize that Post-Racial actually meant making absolutely everything, even the most innocuous, about race. I really do need to brush up on my Newspeak to Sane translations. Or, you know, people should just stop making stuff up and stop inventing racism out of whole cloth. End the insanity and focus on content of character and not the content, or imagined content, of audio cards.

How can we ever truly be Post-Racial when not racist at all things like this are constantly twisted around so as to be racist? Now they are even feigning deafness, apparently, in order to hear racist things where none actually are. Sort of like Maureen Dowd and the time that she imagined the word “boy” at the end of Joe Wilson’s “You Lie” comment to President Obama.

The only people who see race and color absolutely everywhere are the people who have something to gain from race-baiting. Power. They cannot move past it and they cannot ever be “Post-Racial,” because being race baiters is a way that they hold power and push their agenda. Like feminists, whom I call Femisogynists, they rely on victimizing others and they have indoctrinated others into being victims. Those who see only color and who actively seek to pin a racial element to everything, are the ones who need to examine why they do so.

NAACP, you “acted stupidly.” You should probably give yourselves one of those Teachable Moments™ on this. I’ll give you a hint: Start with The Boy Who Cried Wolf.

Perhaps they should look at rap lyrics, but, it’s hard to shakedown criminals compared to Hallmark.

    • taxmaiden

It’s ok when they say those horrible disgusting things, whether real or imagined, but not anyone else.

  • Doc Holliday

just like when the DC bureaucrat was fired for using the word niggardly in proper context.

    • 13Bravo

      when I heard about this.

Maybe we should take up a collection to buy liberals dictionaries, thesauri and encyclopedias. Liberals actually do not seem to realize just how ignorant and uneducated they sound when they make complaints like this.

Now me wife will probably catch flak when a NAALCP person comes in the store she works at……(she works in a local Hallmark Crown Store) I hope it happens when i’m there to catch it……someone will be GREATLY embarrassed to have brought it up around me!!

…as to how that one congressman thinks he heard the N-word fifteen times.

Then again, what should I expect from an outfit that still names itself after a term that people stopped using before I was even born.

I remember about 10 or more years ago some blacks getting worked up over the game of pool. They said the game was racist because the cue ball was white and the last ball to be dropped to win was black.

Although this is just the latest in a long history of ignorant blacks seeing boogymen behind every door, the attitude behind it is old.

On the bright side, this must serve as evidence that there is very little real racism happening these days.

I was in first grade when we moved to Alabama in 1963, and even at that age I was old enough to catch on to some of the things that my parents didn’t want me to know about. Back then, people didn’t have to hunt for “racism” inside Hallmark cards.

The people who stood up to real racism (my father among them, in his own way), should be sickened by what’s become of the civil rights movement. The courageous stands against injustice have devolved into an endless stream of infantile whining over imagined insults.

Here’s a little clue for our race-baiting friends: if it doesn’t involve the “establishment” directly telling people that what they can and can’t be, do, or go based solely on skin color, it’s not racism. Hell, it’s not even bigotry if you have to have a secret decoder ring to interpret it.

    Perfect line.

You know, it’s stupid crap like this that causes people to just stop listening to opportunistic race hustlers.

The worst thing is that Hallmark gave in to this nonsense and pulled the card. By giving in to this baloney, they serve only to perpetuate this endless whinning about the racism that these people see literally everywhere. Has every company in America become emasculated? Can they not stand up to any of this absurdness, no matter how slight? People literally died at Ft. Hood because of this obession with political correctness, which is a complete brainchild of the left to advance their agenda. I, for one, will be writing to Hallmark telling them I will not buy their cards anymore. I hope others will do the same. C’mon everybody, the left is relentless about advancing their agenda, and this is how its done, a little bit at time, all the time, and over time. And you can see where we are now in this country. Too much trouble? Then I guess we just let them win, and accept what they have in store for us.

Even the good establishment conservatives jump whenever someone screams “civil rights”. Witness the sad cave in on Rand Paul’s entirely reasonable comments.

We’re never going to win that way and it lets our opponents set the terms of the debate– which is all about making conservative= racist.

All we do by legitimizing the loons at these places is empowering our enemies.

this is not the first time “black hole” has been called a racist term:

[Dallas] County commissioners were discussing problems with the central collections office that is used to process traffic ticket payments and handle other paperwork normally done by the JP Courts.

Commissioner Kenneth Mayfield, who is white, said it seemed that central collections “has become a black hole” because paperwork reportedly has become lost in the office.

Commissioner John Wiley Price, who is black, interrupted him with a loud “Excuse me!” He then corrected his colleague, saying the office has become a “white hole.”

As I think Lori suggested, this bizzare trend is because actual racism has become so rare in the mainstream, that the NAACP and others who draw power from the existence of racism have to now invent it where none exists.

And during the 2008 campaign, Obama waited and waited for John McCain to attack him on race. When McCain refused, an exasperated Obama had to finally say in July of 08:

“They’re going to try to say, “Well, you know, he’s got a funny name, and he doesn’t look like all the presidents on the dollar bills.”

(After initially denying it, Team Obama later admitted that Obama was referring to race)

Idiocy is found across all spectrums of society,
It is an equal opportunistic condition with a blind eye.
There is no vaccine though a possible cure might be found in daily dosing of Common Sense and Rational Thought.
Plus vigorous exercise in the area of the spine.

“There is no vaccine though a possible cure might be found in daily dosing of Common Sense and Rational Thought.”

With your permission I might use that line in the future myself.

      • pamela1631

        13Bravo.

Something Obama should pay heed to since he is intent on kicking.
Though I think not, even with a cure available.

Thank you, LBJ and the Great Society, for initiating a permanent mindset of self-imagined victimhood. And thanks to every deluded liberal politician since, who has sought to build on LBJs false vision and unsound foundation. Here’s the result, an entire industry devoted to blaming every problem, real and imagined, on someone else,

Once again, the Law of Unintended Consequences rears its ugly head, proving that government can help the most by not trying to help so much.

  • mriggio

If one witnessed an actual case of racism or racial bigotry, how could it be recognized these days? At a time when everything is racist, nothing is. Hallmark screwed up by retracting their product. And ‘niggardly’ remains a perfectly acceptable, useful word which has nothing whatsoever to do with race.

OTOH and veering off-topic, I did enjoy the episode of the TV comedy Corner Gas where the younger townsfolk were aghast at their elder’s idea to increase tourism by creating a farming landmark to be called ‘the world’s biggest hoe’. Much silly wordplay ensued: what if there are clods of dirt on it? what if the handle dries in the sun and cracks? Dirty crack hoe, etc…. It is a Canadian production and I highly recommend the first couple of seasons!

who think science is too rigid and erection-like and should be more fluid and encompassing, the way lesbian lawyers are.

You should read this academic stuff. If airplanes start falling out of the skies in the near future, it is because the no-wrong-answer crowd has finally take over math and science completely.

  • throwback59

    are racist.
    And sexist.
    And probaly elitest, too.

  • msctex

If a Hallmark card referred to “colored people?”

    • throwback59

      be no problem.
-I don’t understand that one, either.

  • lukematthews

To maintain control over their identity groups, crypto-socialists must keep the narrative of racist, greedy, exploitive America alive and kicking. Never mind that two generations have passed since Jim Crow segregation laws were overturned. You are ignoring historical reality when you don’t cow to the ‘we were a slave-owning nation’ argument. We are supposed to sit down and shut up while our Dear Leader and the Party clean up our racist past, well, not clean it up so much as perpetuate it interminably. The herd must be reminded of the dangerous wolves outside the fold by getting the sheepdogs to nip at their heels. Myths must be reinforced to keep the folks on the plantation.
Changing the language is just a convenient tool of enforcing their perogative.

Bought the card in question. Poked a hole in it, put it on my old record player, then manually reversed the rotation, running it backwards at approximately 33-1/3 RPM, and what I heard was: “Resistance is futile. You will be assimilated.” I’m sure of it. Absolutely. Well, pretty sure. I think.

In any case, Hallmark is pure evil, and needs to have its ass kicked by Barack Obama, so this can never happen again.

“It’s easier to banish a habit of thought than a piece of knowledge” – H. Beam Piper

Took me a while to respond to this, but it’s been an itch I’ve been trying to scratch for days. Shocking, at first, not much to say there. Questioning the nature of the racist claim, nothing to add there.

Finally – this morning the light bulb switched on.

This is another step in the decline of the American people into serfdom. Not slavery, at least not by name, but – as the descendents of the citizens of ancient Rome found – once the habit of learning, the habit of thought that education is, in itself, a good thing is banished, serfdom is almost an inevitability.

That’s why this was bothering me for days – not because some fool claims racism where none exists, but because generations now have banished the thought of learning.

It’s a short trip from here to serfdom – all that’s really necessary is for the welfare state to run out of money, and for some slightly sociopathic entrepreneur whose forefathers valued education to see a use for all those able or semi-able bodies.

“Green” farming comes to mind, something akin to the serf villages of pre-1700s Europe, no mechanization, just human labor. A return to the sweatshops of the early industrial revolution, or of modern southeast Asia, are also possibilities.

As the welfare state is running out of money, this is one of the next possible steps, unless a habit of thought can be un-banished.
