For The People, By The People: Renee Ellmers (NC-2)

Yesterday morning, I had the chance to speak with Renee Ellmers, who is running for Congress against Bob Etheridge (D-NC), he of man-handling those who dare to question him fame. Or, rather, infamy.  Etheridge is a clear-cut example of the arrogance of those firmly entrenched in Washington, DC, which is what prompted Renee Ellmers to run in the first place.

As a nurse, whose husband is a surgeon, she knew that doctors don’t nefariously lop off limbs nor reap tonsils willy nilly for cash money. She decided that she needed to speak out during the town halls that were meant to discuss the then proposed Obamacare legislation. Upon doing so, she saw the sneering contempt that Democrat Bob Etheridge had for his own constituents.

This spurred her to run for the seat herself and she elaborates on that in the interview. We also discuss more of the unintended, and intended, consequences of Obamacare, her endorsement by the Susan B. Anthony list as a strong Pro-Life voice, Mama Grizzlies and what they stand for, Arizona’s immigration law, cap and trade and why Renee Ellmers thinks that carbon offsets/global warming is the greatest scam of the century.

First clip is below and the rest are after the jump. If you like what you hear as much as I did, or if you would like to learn more about Renee Ellmers (and lend her your support), please visit ReneeForCongress.

Hey bob..I would really like to meet you on a street somewhere for some casual conversation. I would like to see how bad you really are. I see you can man handle a college kid but I’d like to see what you can do with a man. You are without a doubt a sorry excuse for a represenitive, a man and most of all a human being. If that had been me as a represenitive and a young kid had enough interest to know who I was and wanted to ask me if I supported OBLAMEO’S agenda I would have answered him. Either you were too drunk, too stupid or just too damn mean and couldn’t care less about this kids interest in politics. You ought to be ashamed of yourself. You ought to never run for a public office again. And if people vote for you they are just as mindless as you are. You are in a word….PATHETIC !

I actually learned about this candidate shortly after her opponent’s major scandal. Shortly after the scandal somebody did a poll, and it showed her 1 point ahead, but both her and the incumbant were under 40, meaning that she can win and win easily if she can get the resources to run a decent campaign, but if not the incumbant may be able to use his huge warchest to buy another term. We can’t let that happen. She is an excellent candidate, and she deserves our help. Winning this seat will be an extra bonus because he won re-election last go-round by a landslide, I believe it was over 30 points. This would be a really huge pickup for us, as far as House seats go, because his seat seemed so safe before he set out to convince voters that he was in fact a crazy person :) . We can definitely win this one!

But his margin has been as low as 6.86%. This race was not an odds on bet until he acted like a thug. Now he is in deep doo-doo. See: http://www.marstonchronicles.info/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=481&Itemid=1327.
