Earlier this month, the National Organization For Women (N.O.W.) endorsed Jerry Brown for Governor of CA a mere 24 hours after an audio tape surfaced wherein Jerry Brown was heard agreeing with an aide that Meg Whitman should be called a “whore“. What’s a little sexism if it is aimed at a Republican woman! I mean, Jerry Brown is totally For The (Real) Women ™ , right? And The Children, of course. Only, not so much. (H/t JstJoan)

The above linked screen shot of a newspaper article is back from when Jerry Brown was previously Governor of California. It refers to women “pestering” Jerry Brown, who was himself quoted as saying “Can’t you get the women off my back on child care?” So, the N.O.W. endorsed Jerry Brown thinks that pester-y Meg Whitman, daring to run against him, is a “whore”, mammograms are a luxury that need not be covered by insurance and child care issues are oh-so-tiresome. Get off his back, man! More accurately, get off his back, kids and broads!

Don’t bother him further by making him have any sort of actual plans for governing, either. He hates that too. According to Jerry Brown, you are supposed to just lie when running for Governor, and be clueless as Governor, as his appearance on CNN Late Edition in 1992 shows (transcript after the jump):

Interviewer: You said something a moment ago that I have to follow up on and I have to draw you out on. You said you don’t have to lie anymore now that you’re not a politician. What did you lie about when you were governor?

Jerry Brown: It’s all a lie. You’re pretending there’s a plan…

Interviewer: What did you lie about?

Jerry Brown: You run for office and the assumption is “Oh, I know what to do”. You don’t. I didn’t have a plan for California. Clinton doesn’t have a plan. Bush doesn’t have a plan.

Interviewer: You said you had a plan for California and you lied because you didn’t have a plan?

Jerry Brown: You say you’re going to lower taxes, you’re going to put people to work, you’re gonna improve the schools, you’re going to stop crime… crime is up, schools are worse, taxes are higher. I mean be real!

“Be real”. Plans, shmans! That’s too much effort, man. Get off his back. Jerry Brown hasn’t changed at all.

Jerry Brown admitted to totally lying when running for Governor. He admitted to having no clue of how to actually, you know, govern. He admitted to not even having any potential plans.

Jerry Brown doesn’t appear to know much of anything. Except, evidently, that women should either be off his back or on their backs.
