iran drone
Apparently there is no indignity the Obama administration will not suffer in order to placate the terrorist regime in Tehran. Not only have we given them the green light to acquire and develop ballistic missiles and nukes, we seem hellbent on letting them make the Persian Gulf their “mare nostrum.”

Early in January, the Iranians launched missiles within one mile of the carrier, USS Harry Truman, then operating in the Gulf.

A couple of weeks ago, two US Navy vessels were seized by Iran. Our sailors were illegally detained. Our ships taken into an Iranian port with an Iranian flag flying, just as you would treat a prize of war. The Iranians violated a Law of the Sea treaty they have signed which guarantees the treatment of mariners in distress. They paraded our sailors before television cameras, coerced a confession from one sailor, and forced a female sailor to wear a tablecloth on her head.

Less than a week ago the Iranians released video allegedly taken by one of their diesel-electric submarines stalking a US aircraft carrier. The usual caveat here that the source of this video is from Iran and it may or may not be true:

Now the provocations have been upped a notch or two. Iran has flown an unmanned drone directly over a US aircraft carrier.

ran claimed Friday it flew a surveillance drone over a U.S. aircraft carrier and took “precise” photographs as part of an ongoing naval drill, as Iranian TV broadcasted video purportedly showing the incident.
The U.S. Navy confirmed to Fox News that an unarmed Iranian drone flew “directly over” the USS Harry Truman earlier this month on Jan. 12, but did not say whether it was the same incident.

That happened on the same day Iran captured 10 U.S. Navy sailors accused of “trespassing.” It also was less than a week before the U.S. and European nations lifted sanctions on Iran over its nuclear program, but months after their initial deal was signed.

A US Navy spokesman called it “abnormal and unprofessional”, but said not to worry because the Truman was not engaged in flight operations and the drone wasn’t armed.

We see in Iran’s actions the beginning of an asymmetric campaign to expel the US Navy from the Persian Gulf. Just like in the Iran nuclear agreement, Iran has taken their measure of Obama and found his pu**y factor to be ELEVEN. They know his entire foreign policy in the region is based on the imagined cooperation with Tehran. Therefore they know there is virtually nothing they can’t do by way of provocation and win. You can bet that small US vessels don’t operate with the same freedom today that they did a month ago. Once Iranian drones start flying over US carriers, our operational tempo is going to be dictated by those drone flights not by the mission — unless we start shooting them down. They will ratchet up the pressure and create an ever more high risk series of situations until Obama, to preserve his fiction, removes the US Navy from the Persian Gulf.
