After Thursday’s debate, an informal truce (sort of like Christmas 1914, in a way) has been reached between Ted Cruz, Marco Rubio, and John Kasich that in order to stop Donald Trump it is necessary for Cruz and Kasich to assist Rubio in winning Florida and for Cruz and Rubio to assist Kasich in winning Ohio. This is really only possible because Kasich is basically a non entity and Rubio is widely expected to exit the race next week, regardless of what happens in Florida.
When you look at the state of the polling in Florida, you see that a Rubio victory becomes a real possibility… not a likelihood, in my view, but a definite possibility.
Routinely Trump polls at least 5 points higher than what actually happens at the ballot box. That 5 point decrement plus what Rubio gets from Kasich and Cruz voters could put Rubio over the top. Trump seems to be very concerned:
Word is-early voting in FL is very dishonest. Little Marco, his State Chairman, & their minions are working overtime-trying to rig the vote. — Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) March 12, 2016
We are asking law enforcement to check for dishonest early voting in Florida- on behalf of little Marco Rubio.
No way to run a country!

What Trump is doing is lowering expectations. If he loses, well he’s already warned his minions that the forces of darkness have conspired to keep them from their deserved greatness. If they win, well, Trump sees all and his timely warning to law enforcement stopped the theft of the election. Head I win, tails you lose. You see a lot of that in Trump’s business dealings and political style.
