As minutes and then hours elapsed between the time the terrorist attacker in London was dropped and he was identified in anyway, it was a sign of what would follow. Today he was identified:

The Westminster terrorist who brought bloodshed to the heart of London has been named by police as Khalid Masood, a British-born criminal with a string of previous convictions.

After Isil claimed the attacker was a “soldier” of the terror group, Scotland Yard formally identified the 52-year-old – saying he was not the subject of any current investigations and there was “no prior intelligence about his intent to mount a terrorist attack”.

What is notable is that, much like San Bernardino shooter Rizwan Farook, Masood was native born to Muslim immigrant parents. And he had come to the attention of counter-terrorism agents in the past.

UK Prime Minister Theresa May said he had been under surveillance in the past but was a “peripheral figure” and was not suspected of plotting any specific attacks.

Funny how that happens, isn’t it? They are always “peripheral figures” until they become central ones. And like every other Islamist terrorist, he acted alone

“It is still our belief, which continues to be borne out by our investigation, that this attacker acted alone and was inspired by international terrorism,” Rowley said.

And just to show how alone Massod acted, British police conducted raids today arresting eight people

On Thursday, British police announced that six homes were raided and eight arrests were made in connection to the Wednesday terror attack that left four dead, including the attacker and a police officer.

Armed police carried out the raid in the central city of Birmingham, about 130 miles north of London; however, police said they believed the terror attacker acted alone during his assault on the Westminster Bridge near Parliament.

Is this related to the fact that mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, is an Islamist himself who has called moderate Muslims Uncle Toms? And what enticed a 52-year-old native-born Briton to embrace radical Islam and embark on what he had to know was a suicide attack?
