One of the truisms popularized by Rush Limbaugh was along the lines of “liberals are never more amusing than when they are out of power.” Or something like that. This was back before he sold his soul, so I’m not sure what he says these days. That was certainly proven true yesterday when European Commission president  Jean-Claude Juncker blamed Trump for Brexit.

“Brexit isn’t the end. A lot of people would like it that way, even people on another continent where the newly elected US President was happy that the Brexit was taking place and has asked other countries to do the same. If he goes on like that I am going to promote the independence of Ohio and Austin, Texas in the US.”

This deeply un-serious comment is by a deeply un-serious man presiding over an un-serious organization. The reason Brexit took place is exemplified in Juncker’s arrogance. It is his bureaucrats who have developed an oppressive regime our EPA can never even aspire to achieve. By comparing Britain and the other sovereign nations who have voluntarily joined the EU. The EU has an established procedure for those nations to leave.

The issue of secession was vigorously argued in the United States and was settled for all in the classic case of Lincoln vs. Davis (1865).

It is the corruption and arrogance of the EU bureaucracy that convinced Britain it was better off outside that organization. Juncker seems hell-bent on convincing Poland, Hungary, France, the Netherlands, and other nations to follow suit.
