In the ongoing battle against cultural Marxism and the LGBT mafia, another shot has been fired.

Governor Phil Bryant, of Mississippi, has signed into law House Bill 1523.

The law allows for the denial of services, based on religious conviction and specifically benefits churches, religious organizations, and private businesses. Government services are not included in the protection.

Predictably, gay rights groups and various businesses objected to the passage of HB 1523.

The passage of this bill comes on the heels of North Carolina’s Gov. Pat McCrory signing House Bill 2, which prevents NC cities from setting gender neutral bathroom policies for the entire city. This was in response to a Charlotte, NC ordinance that would have opened all public bathrooms and locker rooms to either sex, beginning on April 1, 2016. The measure allows for private businesses to set whatever bathroom policy they wish.

Regarding House Bill 1523, a story with ABC11.com says:

The measure’s intention is to protect those who believe that marriage should be between one man and one woman, that sexual relations should only take place inside such marriages, and that male and female genders are unchangeable.

Mississippi and Gov. Bryant can expect the same level of hate mail, protests, and federal threats as North Carolina and every other state that has attempted to protect religious liberties or just basic, common sense.

Time to batten the hatches.
