WHY NOT? The Terminator for President

It really does feel like this is an election season that needs a Terminator.

Why not?

“If I’d been born in America, I would’ve run,” Schwarzenegger told Adweek. “Because now? This was a very good time to get in the race.”

“For the first time since I became a citizen in 1983, I will not vote for the Republican candidate for president,” Schwarzenegger said in a statement. “As proud as I am to label myself a Republican, there is one label that I hold above all else: American. So I want to take a moment today to remind my fellow Republicans that it is not only acceptable to choose your country over your party — it is your duty.”

The former (disastrous) governor of California was a supporter of John Kasich during the primaries, and announced that he could not support Donald Trump, after the 2005 hot mic lewdness was released.

It’s a nice thought, but I doubt Schwarzenegger’s record would be enough to gain him much positive press, even if he could legally run.

This is the desperation a Trump candidacy has worked up, however. Trump is so bad, everybody else starts to look good, by comparison.

The Austrian-born actor is set to take over as the new face of “The Apprentice” – Donald Trump’s old gig – in January.

I didn’t think much of Schwarzenegger’s record as California’s governor, but I loved practically all of his movies, so I may actually be lured into watching an episode or two of the revamped reality show, if for nothing more than to stick a thumb in the eye of Trump.
