And Some Former Presidents Stood on Principle

There was a lot of speculation about who the Bush family would vote for.

Certainly, they wouldn’t vote for the man who had demeaned their entire family for the entirety of the election season. He made it far too personal.

What about Hillary Clinton?

She is against everything the Bush family stands for, however, the relationship between George H.W. Bush and Bill Clinton is a warm one. They reportedly grew close while working on some joint charity efforts, several years ago.

And that was the rumor. The Bushes would be voting for Hillary.

Crotch-sniffer extraordinaire, Rush Limbaugh, announced to his audience that George W. Bush had voted for Hillary Clinton.

I don’t listen to the blowhard, anymore. When he went Trumpidian cult, I shut him off and haven’t looked back. With that being the case, I don’t know what his justification was for calling George W. Bush’s vote, but apparently, he was wrong.

Again.

Speculation about the 43rd president’s vote started to run rampant after Rush Limbaugh told his listeners Tuesday that Bush voted for Clinton. However, Freddy Ford, a spokesman for Bush and wife, shot down those rumors, telling the Texas Tribune that they did not vote for either candidate and voted for Republicans down-ballot candidates.

“They didn’t vote for Hillary; they didn’t vote for Trump,” Ford said in a statement.

In other words, a man of principle voted principle.

As for the 41st president, no one is commenting on who he voted for.

A firestorm emerged in mid-September after Kathleen Hartington Kennedy Townsend, the former Maryland lieutenant governor and daughter of Robert F. Kennedy, said on Facebook that the former president told her that he was planning to vote for Clinton on Tuesday, leading to wider speculation about the rest of the Bush family.

And he very well may have told her that, or she may have gotten it wrong.

We don’t know, because he’s not made a statement.

People like Rush Limbaugh, however, are irresponsible when they toss out assumptions with no facts to back them up.

Every member of the Bush family will have my respect, long after the likes of Rush Limbaugh and his overlord, Trump, have faded from the face of the planet.
