Bannon the Barbarian: Is There More on the Horizon Than Just Breitbart?

So what’s next for Steve Bannon? The word is, he’s once again taking the reins of Breitbart News, and possibly going full throttle in his attacks against a White House he now sees as a den of globalist cucks.

According to a new report from Axios, however, Bannon’s trajectory may not stop there.

The word is that Bannon is talking to his associates and feels the time is ripe to begin a news network to be the far right alternative to Fox News.

From Axios:

  • Before his death in May, Roger Ailes had sent word to Bannon that he wanted to start a channel together. Bannon loved the idea: He believes Fox is heading in a squishy, globalist direction as the Murdoch sons assume more power.
  • Now he has the means, motive and opportunity: His chief financial backer, Long Island hedge fund billionaire Bob Mercer, is ready to invest big in what’s coming next, including a huge overseas expansion of Breitbart News.

Bannon’s exit from his position at the White House may have been far more mercenary than just a matter of being squeezed out by the new chief of staff, John Kelly.

On Day 1, Bannon declared he’s taking his West Wing infighting to the outside, telling Bloomberg Businessweek’s Josh Green that he’s “going to war for Trump against his opponents — on Capitol Hill, in the media, and in corporate America.”

  • The reality is that Bannon will go nuclear on former colleagues he calls “West Wing Democrats”: economic adviser Gary Cohn, Jared and Ivanka (“Javanka,” as he calls them) and Deputy National Security Adviser Dina Powell.
  • The revved-up Breitbart operation is also likely to target Speaker Ryan, as it did before Trump.

That will set up a Civil War between factions on the right, as they battle it out to see who holds claim on the Republican party – establishment Republicans, alt-right nuts, or conservatives.

Further, Bannon may be gone, but not forgotten. Some insist that he still has President Trump’s ear, so he’s expected to be working from the outside in the coming months, without the bridle of John Kelly holding him back.
