The Leftist Tailspin

When in doubt, threaten to murder them.

Apparently in hopes of upping their game heading into November, the Left has decided that the best way to win is by, you know, offing the opposition.

The movement has proven to be incredibly powerful throughout this primary season – more powerful than I think even the protesters and activists themselves even believed. As a result, the Left is in full panic mode. They have been so busy demonizing the liberty movement since its inception that they have no idea what to do now that we have voter support. They don’t have a backup plan. Their voter turnout and morale are significantly down, and they’re trying to minimize impending disaster in November. Democrats are spinning wildly to give the base a shred of hope so a few of them bother showing up to the polls.

Meanwhile, voter turning in the Florida GOP gubernatorial primary is up 30% from what it was in 2006. GOP establishment candidates have either been eliminated in their primaries or run out of the Republican party in Nevada, Utah, Florida, Pennsylvania, Kentucky, and Washington; Alaska will most likely be next on the list. Going into the general, almost every one of these candidates is poised to beat the Democrat on November 2nd. The Left is stunned… and as a result they’re upping the level of vitriol against the people it perceives as threats.

You’d think, at some point, a sense of human decency would kick in. Maybe threatening to brutally rape and kill the family members of people you’ve never even laid eyes on is a little over the top? However, everyone’s apparently invincible online, so maybe if you don’t use your real name, then human decency is rendered irrelevant? Who knows? Regardless, the threats of beheadings, rape, and murder come on a daily basis for the outspoken among us – bloggers and pundits can all attest to this.

A while back I posted the audio of the response from the D.C. Douglas call to “tell FreedomWorks what you think.” (If you click that link, be prepared for unedited nastiness from our voicemail boxes) More recently, we’ve received an influx of emails that, in all honesty, I can’t post here due to vile content.

As our Press Secretary Adam Brandon said in a US News and World Report article yesterday, it’s only going to get worse.

FreedomWorks and Dick Armey receive dozens of threatening and harassing calls and emails each day. Many imply violence and use of weapons… As we get closer to the election we expect the harassment to increase.”

Go read the piece for the full story. It’s fun. We will soon be moving our offices for increased security.

The misinformation and the hatred are perpetuated by the left-wing blogosphere, which is – without exception – loose with facts and totally disinterested in civil discourse. Take today’s Crooks and Liars piece for example. Anyone doing their homework would know that FreedomWorks has never received a dime from the Koch Foundation. The Kochs themselves have explained this. Pretty clear statement… unless you are just determined to believe that the Kochs are the George Soros of the Right and nothing happens without them. In which case, the facts are pretty inconvenient, and research is hard.

Also, the guy in NYC who stabbed the Muslim cabby? TOTALLY a Tea Partier. ISLAMOPHOBIA! HATE! KKK! Except… oh, wait. Crap.

All this to say, step it up, Lefties. You’ve been reduced to hateful, spiteful, vindictive whiners who talk like a 12 year old who just discovered YouTube comments, and it’s time to think things through a little. Is sending death threats to FreedomWorks going to make your loss a little less miserable in two months ? We’re fully prepared to receive more bomb threats and then march again on 9/12. you focus on the teeth-gnashing and rage. We’ll focus on November.

A tried and true tactic of the left. Maybe they’ll realize it doesn’t work anymore.

    I’ll be praying for you!

I got a hate post from a left winger, In typical fashion, this mighty tower of tolerance called my every name in the book, and to top it off landed a few racial blasts as well.

That is what passes for discourse among the left.

  • JadedByPolitics

that said, they couldn’t find happiness in teh Won’s win and they will be even more enraged when they LOSE IT ALL! They never quite got the whole “leading” thing and in such they NEVER were able to bring the American people to them, instead they have made the American people DESPISE them!

  • youngsterz

There was a day when this would have worked, to intimidate the silent majority into passive submission. That day has passed, and now, such actions only make us more angry. We are off the couch, we are engaged, and we’re coming for you. On a daily basis, they throw out more garbage that only serves to piss us off even more.

If the left had any strategic clue at all, they would back off, go super mellow, quit fanning the flames, and hope and pray that the silent majority would go back to sleep. Their arrogance, however, won’t let that happen, and they will continue to try to FORCE their agenda upon us.

They are in severe denial as to the extent of the uprising. It’s a delight to behold, and I’m so looking forward to the Nov 2 independence day party.

  • Raven

Eventually, they will choose the wrong person to attack and find themselves with more than they even dreamed of trying to handle.
And that will be the end of the political effort.

  • AceInTX

I’d recommend this if it wasn’t a front page piece already….let me just say

  • johnt

It’s not just the bloggers. People lite Chris Matthews, E J Dionne, Frank Rich, the over the top name calling, the “racist” fantasies, the JournoList thing, the sick flaming, incessant fixations and bile, it won’t be long now & it won’t be normal people that provoke it. And this is what the Left does when they win.
We are getting closer to violence.
The November elections should be a peach, and BTW, thanks Obama & the media.

    • IJB

      …And I stick by that.

The only question is whether it will be random and sporadic, or organized and wide-spread…

      • acat

It’s not going to be pretty, and I predict it will very quickly get away from those who think themselves the organizers.

That’s when we’ll see who really has hold of the strings.

as another poster is prone to note . . . “powder is dry” . . . and I for one will not hesitate to burn it in such circumstances. Happily.

This just makes me all the more eager for November to arrive. I feel a tsunami coming on. Time to sweep the Progressives from power and restore a little sanity.

Rubio, Toomey, Buck, Paul, Angle, Lee, Rossi, Johnson, O’Donnell, and now Miller. Jim DeMint is going to have some reinforcements come January, and not a moment too soon.

I can see November from my house!!

  • bk

We’d hate to distract any of the government resources that are trying to figure out how to make Joe Arpaio the only Arizonan in jail.

  • benko

Someone once said that liberals often have large amounts of repressed anger, so this should be no surprise.

  • arrowshot

I hope you will take appropriate precautions. As I noted, the Bill Ayers and others of his ilk backed by Soros and the left could very well resort to methods they have used in the past. It is very easy to dismiss the Truthers and the World Trade Center but if anything were to happen between now and the election I would have major suspicions, particularly if it was a catastophic event.

  • throwback59

thrilled with the attack on the cabby? Too bad the guy speaks Arabic and works for a left wing pro mosque group. He probaly supports the mosque, but alcohol can bring out a whole different person (we’ve all been there, minus the knives).

  • avgamerican

During the campaign, the voters saw Bill Ayers, Jeremiah Wright, Father Plager, but didn’t seemed to dismiss Obama’s associations with these people as exaggerated or nothing but political propaganda. Then they saw Obama do exactly what conservatives warned he would do. Corporate take over and massive government deficit spending. The economy went from bad to free fall. Yes folks he really is a radical socialist reformer. Do they get that now? Yes he is kind and willing to give any benfit of the doubt to radical Islamist militant governments, but he must remain neutral or non-responsive to any aggression toward Israel. Yes folks Obama really is a threat to Isreal’s self defense and national sovereignty. Obama has chosen cuts to our military and CIA intelligence before giovernment socialist programs. We said he would do that. Yes folks Obama’s policies really are a threat to our national security. Do they get that now?

  • wannabeanncoulter

Who cares?! We have to be ready to hit the ground running once we get back THE POWER back.

Some things will be easy: make the Bush tax cuts permanent, eliminate the Death Tax for eternity. Repealing Obamacare is more problematic (overriding vetos is a b*tch!).

And it’s now or never for getting rid of Social Security. People are desperate enough now for cold hard cash — the perfect time to offer a dollar-for-dollar buyout from Social Security.

You know how SS is always sending updates on how much you’ve “contributed” to date? Let people opt out of Social Security and get, dollar-for-dollar, everything they’ve put in.

Best thing: They don’t have to take the money and roll it over into some other kind of plan. Hey, the money’s theirs to do as they wish. But once an individual opts out of Social Security, there’s no opting back in.

Medicare is trickier, but I’m working on it…..

    • merryj1

Then de-fund the rest. Congress holds the checkbook. Let the new Speaker of the House scribble “NSF” on all of those socialist ideas.

      • izoneguy

How a Republican Congress could begin the process of repealing this unpopular law.

        http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052748703649004575437271015655924.html?mod=rss_opinion_main

Here are six key strategies that a Republican Congress could employ to put on the brakes:

        • gekster

But do we have any one with the brains to pul it off.

          • davesinsanantonio
          • BA Cyclone

I think brains are a-plenty on our side, but Washington D.C. has a real hefty supply of Kryptonite that renders backbone useless there. You need quite a hefty one to keep yours once you step foot into that asylum.

    • dudette

–i realize mathematically that we cant get 2/3 senate for override, but you forget there are going to be Dems whose knees are knocking in fear that they will be thrown out next round so they may also support repeal. They know it has damaged them unbelievably and they also realize NOW that the Ohole does not care about the party about helping the party hold seats, he doesnt care at all about the party–he is not a Democrat–he is a tyrant and its his way or the hiway and it goes for Dems as well as pubs

      • izoneguy

After Nov when many dems are left at the platform, those remaining House members will either get with the program or be purged in 2 years as well. The Senate will be purged, it will take a little longer. The death of progressivism is near, the progressives just refuse to accept reality.

  • modernpatriot

The left’s attack on Freedom Works is a real joke. They make them out to be the leader of the Tea Party movement. Anyone who is or has been part of the Tea Party knows there is no one leader. I often wish that there was.

My theory is that part of the reason we don’t have a leader and a central organization is because we are determined “not” to be what the left has constantly accused us of being, Astroturf. I believe that they are scared to death of this happening. We might end up being like that grass roots group, Organizing for America. It’s funny you never hear of any comparisons to that group. We could keep our individual focus and still be a part of a larger organization. I think it’s time we stop allowing the left to partially drive our direction. That old saying is still true today, there is strength in numbers.

There is a great new book that every Conservative, Palin, and Beck fan needs to have. It’s a parody of Obama and the Dems over the last two years set to the theme of a popular children’s book. It is LOL funny and a must have for the upcoming election season. Preview it here. http://www.obamaparody.com/index.php?id=T1

    • peg_c

Dick Armey with his new book has made himself and FreedomWorks a high profile, high value target for the Left. I like Armey and I have his book, and I attended his event at the D.C. Armory last Sept. 10th before the 9/12 march and rally – he is great! But this is why we DON’T want “a leader” (which he discusses at length in the book). We are truly organic, grassroots, with many small groups and leaders and a LOT of true networking and activism. We do not take orders. We are not the top-down Soros-funded astroturf that is the Left with their professionally made signs, paid-for buses, etc. We don’t have “a leader” for the Left to focus on and demolish.

They think they have this now with Armey. THEY ARE WRONG. In some ways we are a many-headed hydra, but we are not a movement with one leader. THEY want us to have a leader, and you know they desperately wanted it to be Palin. They have tried to destroy Beck and will try again, they never stop aiming at Rush and hitting the door with their noses, and they’re going after Hannity, Erick here, and many more. None of this will work.

The more the Left targets us and those we respect, the more they fuel our fire and determination, and the more they convince non-Tea Partiers that the Left, not we, are the loons and nuts that are deadly to this country.

  • Carol Tarasewicz

It is more than two months, but I have contacted my Senator, who I am a happy won, but am disappointed with, Scott Brown to get on the conservative side and go with Senator DeMint. I think he is the best senator in the country. He will help save us with our support!

Support the conservatives as much as we can afford. I try to give what I can.

We need saving from Obama, the SEIU etc.

  • peg_c

A lot of conservatives (possibly here as well) were warning years ago that the Left in its Death Throes very likely would regain power for a time and do untold damage. We are seeing it now. I think they perceive that it is all slipping through their fingers, and has that perception takes hold in their brains, they are lashing out and becoming as destructive as possible. There is, IMHO, NO LIMIT to what they will attempt, including different types of violence that they will try to pin on US. Look at the cretin who stabbed the NYC cabbie.

No conservative resorts to violence except in self-defense, ever. The Left, on the other hand, has long made common cause with the most violent, genocidal, tyrannical regimes and dictators in history. Marxism and Communism carried to their logical conclusion is annihilation of ALL THINGS. With these threats against FreedomWorks, we are truly seeing into the heart of darkness and evil.

  • BA Cyclone

I caught that link you cited for leftist spin and got quite a chuckle as I am sure you did Tabitha.

I also caught this blog post the other day on RCP “best of blogs” and found it to be real comedy. I wasn’t hip to the blog so I literally had to go down to the comment section to learn it really was a leftist site. Really!

A parting-shot gem from that post:

Based on the strength of our candidates and the weaknesses of the opposition, I think a loss or gain of one to two seats is the most likely outcome.

The truth staring the statists in the face is so bad for their cause, their only refuge is to literally make like an ostrich and hope for the best.
