    Jane Norton for Governor

By: Erick Erickson (Diary)  |  September 2nd at 03:08 PM  |

I put Nightwister’s post on the frontpage for a reason — Dan Maes needs to disappear. If he is considering it, I want to publicly encourage him. I met Dan Maes. When I was in Colorado earlier this year, Maes wanted to meet and asked for mine and RedState’s support. Very few of my friends in Colorado — the same people supporting Buck by and | Read More »

BREAKING: Dan Maes May Drop Out of CO Gov Race

By: NightTwister (Diary)  |  September 2nd at 01:23 PM  |

From the diaries by Erick. Karen Crummy at the Denver Post reports that former CO Senate President John Andrews has withdrawn his endorsement of Republican gubernatorial candidate Dan Maes. Andrews met with Maes to encourage him to drop out of the race so the Party can choose another candidate with a chance to beat the democratic candidate John Hickenlooper in November. Andrews, who as late | Read More »

    PPP on the Colorado Primaries

By: Neil Stevens (Diary)  |  August 10th at 01:30 PM  |

From Unlikely Voter: Colorado voters have primaries to attend to today, but PPP has one last primary poll to give us something to look at before the real polls close.

His Boots Are Made For Winning

By: Erick Erickson (Diary)  |  August 2nd at 05:00 AM  |

Colorado is a mail-in ballot state for the Republican Primary. 14 counties have actual polling places for the primary, but only 2 out of the top 12 counties in terms of votes. The ballots were mailed out to voters on July 19th. The vast majority of votes will be cast before August 10th. That puts Ken Buck in a very, very good position. In a | Read More »

I Think Cinamon Has Been Replaced By A Shadowy Cabal of Priests

By: Erick Erickson (Diary)  |  July 20th at 11:47 AM  |

We’ve mentioned before Jane Norton’s reliance on Cinamon out in Colorado. Cinamon helps Jane Norton answer her questions. I was shocked and appalled to hear this public radio interview with Jane Norton. Instead of relying on Cinamon for advice on how to deal with illegal alients, Jane Norton is instead relying on “hispanic clergy.” Their advice? Don’t send illegals home. Give them community service then | Read More »

Despite Jane Norton’s Pre-Emptive Spin, Ken Buck Leads in Money and Polling

By: Erick Erickson (Diary)  |  July 8th at 01:03 PM  |

Wow. Poor Jane Norton. How the mighty fall. I guess when you hire Josh Penry to do nothing but beat up Ken Buck and deny you’re the lobbyist you once claimed to be, you have trouble selling yourself. Norton, the former Lt. Governor of Colorado, beat Ken Buck in money raised last quarter, but that’s all. And she got those numbers out there early banking | Read More »

Jane Norton: AARP Lobbyist During Hillarycare Fight

By: Erick Erickson (Diary)  |  July 5th at 11:27 AM  |

Recently Jane Norton gave an interview to the Colorado Statesman. There is this curious exchange in it: CS: Did you used to work for AARP? JN: I did, I did. CS: What did you do for them? JN: I was — gosh, what was my title? Oh, that was so long ago. I’m sorry, can I get back with you on that? I can’t even | Read More »

Jane Norton Wants a Pro-Abortion, Tax and Spend Senator as a Mentor

By: Erick Erickson (Diary)  |  July 1st at 11:00 AM  |

Jane Norton gave the Colorado Statesman a very eye opening interview. First, she walked back some of the attacks her campaign has been making on Ken Buck. Second, she again couldn’t remember key details to questions and had to rely on Cinamon, though not by name this time. Third, when asked who she wanted as a mentor in the United States Senate, Jane Norton said | Read More »

Jane Norton in Full Meltdown. Takes a Page From Tim Bridgewater’s Playbook

By: Erick Erickson (Diary)  |  June 28th at 05:03 PM  |

The United States Chamber of Bailouts has gone to Colorado to endorse the person they view as most likely to vote for bailouts in the future: Jane Norton. In taking the Chamber’s endorsement, like Tim Bridgewater before her, Jane Norton has decided to directly attack Senator Jim DeMint. “DeMint lost more of his fair share,” she said, reminding listeners that the senator’s favored candidate in | Read More »

Jane Norton’s Own Polling Has Her Losing

By: Erick Erickson (Diary)  |  June 25th at 06:24 PM  |

Let’s get this straight: SurveyUSA, an independent polling company, has Ken Buck leading by 16 points in Colorado. So Jane Norton hires a pollster for her campaign and finds that . . . well that Jane Norton is losing by 4 points. Now, of course Jane Norton is spinning this as a six point lead. Why? Well, her pollster asks people if they are likely | Read More »

Jane Norton Is About to Ask Cinamon for Permission to Go Negative

By: Erick Erickson (Diary)  |  June 11th at 02:00 PM  |

Ken Buck is leading Jane Norton by ten percentage points in Colorado. He has Jim DeMint’s endorsement, an army of grassroots support, and momentum headed into July. We need to help him keep it up. Ken Buck will be a conservative rockstar in the United States Senate. But he needs our help. As for the title reference to Cinamon, go here.

Jane Norton Takes From Charlie Crist’s Playbook & Broadcasts She’s Soft on Immigration

By: Erick Erickson (Diary)  |  June 7th at 10:00 AM  |

There is an Associated Press article out about Ken Buck’s surge in Colorado. For those of us who know Ken Buck, this quote comes as no surprise: Buck was asked directly whether his upstart campaign would really work. He summed up why so many conservatives like him — and why so many political observers wonder how far he can go. “I don’t know that I | Read More »

    Are You Kidding Me?!?!?!

By: Erick Erickson (Diary)  |  June 4th at 01:08 PM  |

I didn’t intend this to be “beat up Jane Norton” day today, but are you freaking kidding me? Jane Norton and Ken Buck are both asked if they would vote for legislation that forced faith based institutions to hire homosexuals. Jane Norton says her husband works for the Alliance Defense Fund (a great organization), but won’t comment without reading the legislation. Ken Buck? He went | Read More »

Can Jane Norton Think For Herself?

By: Erick Erickson (Diary)  |  June 4th at 07:00 AM  |

Jane Norton is a nice lady. Don’t believe me? Ask Ken Buck. He has not been going around the campaign trail personally attacking Jane Norton, just pointing out policy differences. Despite the establishment talking points that those differences are minimal, if at all, they are actually quite big on a few big issues. On the paramount issue — who will be conservative before being a | Read More »
