What exactly qualifies football analyst Craig James to serve as a senator? Has he ever held a real job? Not to my knowlege, unless you count being paid illegally to play college football at SMU as a job. James was at the center of the NCAA investigation and death penalty for SMU.

He played in the NFL anfd USFL. Really useful job for a future Senator to hold. He then became a talking head for ABC Sports and ESPN. Honed his camera skills. He was behind the firing of Texas Tech football coach Mike Leach because Leach didn’t agree with Craig James’ viewpoint that his son Adam James was the best receiver in football, period. Adam James was a third stringer. Tech fired Leach, their football program has dropped a notch under the new coach, and Adam James is still a third stringer.

So let’s see – in a state where football is king and taken as serious as our politics, Craig James has alienated SMU supporters/alums, Texas Tech supporters/alums and is not thought fondly of by other Texas college fans/alums because he played against their teams. He has been caught being paid from a slush fund while still in college, and is the poster child of an over-the-top
Football Dad.. Definately a possible senator.

No way in h*** Craig James will win the Republican nomination for U.S. Senate. Maybe he wins the Dem nod, but that’s doubtful as he’s not liberal enough. Bottom line, he is not electable in Texas.

Craig, deflate your head, stop blowing kisses to yourself in the mirror, and don’t waste donors money on this silly idea.

As a Texas Tech alum, I can’t imagine any of us voting for this guy. While TT may not be as big as UT or ATM, there are a bunch of us out in those deep red counties in the panhandle.

the last thing we need is a self righteous entitled blow hard with no real world experience in there. I never liked him, but when it came out how he would go down to Tech’s practices and use his position to try and bully the coach into playing his little brat son, thats all I needed to know.

then maybe he will be forced to quit his espn yacking job and he can’t ruin my college football saturdays anymore.
