There are plenty of unemployed Americans.

The H1B visa program needs to be tied to unemployment rates. As the unemployment rate goes up the number of visas should go to zero.

It may not be good for me as a technical guy, but it is good for the country to have other countries’ smart people all repatriate here.

I hear this sort of thing said all the time, but I never hear a satisifying reason given for it. I wonder sometimes if it is not said only because to many, it sounds good. I know a number of these ‘smart people’ from other countries, and for almost all of them, their loyalties lie entirely with their own nation. In many cases, they plan to work here, earn money and go home. Further, they are bringing back much of our education and innovation to their countries, many of which are not friendly to us.

I think this idea has the same intellectual pedigree as ‘free trade’, which has largely been detrimental to this country,

I about punched my iPod after listening to this.

    Brad, Ben and Francis: really?

Have you never worked at a fast food place? Or a restaurant?

Your “argument,” that “only mexican people make decent Chipotle food,” is so naive it’s scary.

I’m all for being un-PC and “saying it like it is.” But this is just a total podcast facepalm.

It’s a recipe, for crying out loud. You take the ingredients, and you combine them. And what makes Chipotle so good is that it’s SIMPLE.

You can say things like “poor hispanics tend to work really hard” or that “american teenagers are entitled and kind of lazy.” Un-PC statements in the immigration arena, for sure, but least those things are semi-defensible.

But what you guys based your entire podcast on is a total, and complete FAIL. There is no basis in fact whatsoever. And the fact that you actually put it out there is unhelpful and even dangerous.

Here in NYC you have all “kinds” of people working the line in Chipotle. Or McDonalds. Or Wherever. Most of the time it tastes the exact same (which is good). Sometimes somebody cooks the chicken too long, or doesn’t mix the rice correctly (which is bad). IT DOESN’T MATTER IF IT’S AN “HISPANIC” PERSON FOLLOWING THE STUPID RECIPE OR NOT.

You might well have said “pirates make the best Long John Silvers employees.”

    Jeesh.

This greedy CEO asking for more CHEAP ILLEGAL WORKERS when a GAZILLION AMERICANS are currently unemployed, and that is an outrage. And YOU SHOULD BE OUTRAGED. Not broadcasting your ignorance by saying such profoundly stupid things.

I listen to every one of your podcasts. Literally every one. And I have never heard such idiocy in all my life. You should be embarrassed you recorded this.

    Wow. Just. Wow.
