News Flash: Former President Donald Trump Supports the Ukrainian Resistance

I don’t think this needs to be said but just in case, for any new readers here at RedState: Former President Donald Trump is someone who is not afraid to speak his mind. You know exactly how he feels on most issues, and that just drives his detractors nuts.

Now, it might drive some of his “supporters” crazy also.

I covered part of this running theory I have about people who claim to love America and Donald Trump giving verbal cover for Putin for invading Ukraine last week with this post:  Donald Trump Cracks a Joke About Bombing Russia and Hurts Feelings on All Sides of Political Spectrum. From that post…

Former President Donald Trump mused Saturday to the GOP’s top donors that the United States should label its F-22 planes with the Chinese flag and “bomb the s–t out of Russia.”

He also praised North Korean leader Kim Jong Un as “seriously tough,” claimed he was harder on Vladimir Putin than any other president, reiterated his false claims that he won the 2020 election, urged his party to be “tougher” on supposed election fraud, disparaged a range of prominent party opponents and called global warming “a great hoax” that could actually bring a welcome development: more waterfront property.

“And then we say, China did it, we didn’t do it, China did it, and then they start fighting with each other and we sit back and watch,” he said of labeling U.S. military planes with Chinese flags and bombing Russia, which was met with laughter from the crowd of donors, according to a recording of the speech obtained by The Washington Post.

Ohhhhh, did I get a slew of emails from people who checked out my BIO, telling me how wrong I was. I know I have not responded to everyone but I will get around to it, after I get done laughing at some of the responses.

Now in the example above, Trump was obviously joking about having undercover jets from the United States dress up as Chi-Com jets to bomb Russia, and start W.W. III between the two of the world’s most nefarious nations. Yet his actions with what he actually DID do as President line up with an interview he just did with Sean Hannity Thursday night, where he commented about Putin’s invasion.

Just as a warning, if you have said in the past three weeks anything like “Putin is bad, BUT,” you might want to take a deep breath before reading this next section.

Thursday night on the Fox News show “Hannity,” the former President had his harshest criticism yet for the Russian invasion of Ukraine, and it might be worth pondering why. From Business Insider

Former President Donald Trump said Vladimir Putin was “having a lot of trouble” invading Ukraine, saying the Russian president thought it would only be a “48-hour deal.”

In a Thursday interview with Fox News’ Sean Hannity, Trump said the Russian invasion of Ukraine was “truly is a crime against humanity” that “has to end soon.”

“Putin is having a lot of trouble right now. He’s having big big trouble because he thought it was going to be a 48-hour deal and the Ukrainians are good fighters,” he told Hannity.

The Russian army is committing “crimes against humanity” at the direction of who again? Oh yeah, some guy named Putin.

Now, I know this might come as a shock to those that think that almost every video coming out of Ukraine right now is fake, but there is an actual war going on, folks. Sorry that the YouTube and TikTok videos you have been relying on as factually reporting news might not be all that you think they are.

Of course, the media is not to be trusted on anything, and questioning what is happening on the ground in Ukraine should be done. Yet, who am I to believe here? The former President of the United States who put America first–and still gets a version of the Presidential Daily Briefing and has a pretty good idea of the intelligence of the slaughter going on–or that a person begging for clicks on social media with no sources?

I guess I should add that golfer John Daly was videotaped during a phone call with Trump, where he told the golfer that he told Putin while he was President that he would bomb Moscow if he made a move against Ukraine. From Press-Telegram .

During the conversation with Daly, according to a video posted by @nopopsgolf Instagram, Trump said he “got along great” with Putin while in office and seemed to imply that Russia didn’t invade Ukraine while he was President because he had threatened to bomb Moscow.

Donald Trump and Mike Pompeo developed a foreign policy plan that kept Russia and China at the very least guessing and not willing to test their resolve. Now, we have a President that is asleep at the wheel, and Putin and Xi Jinping of China taking liberties wherever they feel they should.

I’m not one of those progressive lib hacks that will try to reinterpret what the former President meant on “Hannity.” Donald Trump said crimes against humanity were being committed in Ukraine. He did not say BUT in trying to explain away the Putin invasion. He did not offer any of the excuses that are being offered as some weird justification for the largest land invasion in Europe since WW II.

He plainly stated it was a war crime, and if he had been President right now, it would not have happened.

I stand with Donald Trump.

If you are making excuses for this invasion, why aren’t you?
