Just coming out this evening, North Korea’s dictator Kim Jong Un has delivered, through South Korean diplomats, an invitation to President Trump to come to the country for a meeting about nuclear disarmament.

No word yet from the White House on whether a meeting would be accepted or any preconditions set, but the White House was teasing the news all day saying a major announcement was coming from South Korean officials, so one can safely assume they are amenable to the meeting.

We will update with more information if and when it becomes available.

North Korea also agreed that in the interim it will halt its missile tests and is prepared to negotiate ending its nuclear weapons program altogether.

UPDATE: Trump accepts.
