No Joy on 'AM Joy': The Reiners Say This is You

Welp — that didn’t last long.

Last week, I wrote an article about Rob Reiner’s appearance on The Hill’s Rising program. Not only did I make it through the entire piece without calling him Meathead, I ended up praising the liberal director:

“Reiner was right on point — no meat on his head whatsoever.”

Well, tonight his head is a vegan’s worst nightmare.

On MSNBC’s AM Joy Sunday, Reiner and his wife, Michele, guested for a discussion of President Trump and his “hardcore racist” supporters. Michele even threw in a dash of Hitler.

There we go.

Rob suggested that anyone who believes illegal immigrants should be prosecuted for sneaking into the country is racist:

“Let’s cut to the chase — this is about racism. This is pure and simple racism — that’s all this is. He’s hoping that the people who support him will be ginned up and running to the polls to make sure that brown people don’t come into America. That’s exactly what’s going on here.”

“Exactly.”

Hear that? Ginned up. This goes back to my earlier article today, which I hope you might take a moment to read: we are all hokey villains.

And right — conservatives are all about hating “brown” people. We hate the color brown.

We hate brownies, Bullwinkle, and don’t even get us started on Fozzie the Bear. We hate Hershey’s Kisses and coffee, and we refuse all deliveries from UPS.

That’s us in a nutshell; but we hate those, too, because they’re brown.

Righto.

Very smart, Rob.

Reiner went on to suggest Trump’s camp hoped to energize his base (which I also addressed here, earlier today), by…wait for it…”separating brown children and parents.”

Yes. He really said that.

Okay, I can’t hold back any longer:

Let’s fast forward to Mrs. Meathead:

“And I have to tell you, my mother was in Auschwitz. She got separated from her entire family — lost her entire family. I never thought I would live to see something like that, particularly in this country, ever again in my lifetime.”

She never thought she would??

Good news, Michele: you still haven’t. Seen. AAAAAAANYTHING like that in this country. AT ALL.

Having had their wish for family detention (as opposed to separation) granted, the Democrats now, of course, find it horribly objectionable (read more about this incredible phenomenon here). Reiner made clear the atrocious nature of Trump doing what they asked of him:

“This is inhuman. What we’re doing in the United States of America is inhuman. It’s the only thing [Trump] can sell to that racist base of his.”

That’s racist base — in case you didn’t realize — is you.

I’ll say it again: Rob was talking, specifically, about you.

Furthermore, family detention was the whole reason for the left-wing 9th Circuit Court of Appeals forced separation in the first place (please read more about that important fact here).

Michele took the opportunity to call you a racist murderer one more time:

“They follow the exact pattern that Hitler has — I hate to say it — with the propaganda, even down to — the Red Cross went into Auschwitz. They cleaned it up for two days — it looked fine — they went back — they said everything seems fine there.”

The exact pattern, ladies and gentlemen. Even though she hates to say it.

If Donald Trump is Hitler, what does that make conservatives? And if Rob Reiner is wrong, what does that make him?

I think we all know the answer to that question.

As for Reiner and his wife’s rhetoric, it would make sense if you hate it — after all, you hate brown; and their assertions are a load of crap.
