Many things come to mind when one thinks of Donald Trump — eccentricity, bravado, the glory of capitalism, real estate domination, billions of dollars’ worth of success, the virtue of American opportunity…mass-murderous communist revolutionaries?
Absolutely, according to a journalist from — say it with me — MSNBC.
Andrea Mitchell appeared on that bastion of reasonable thinking, Comedy Central’s The Daily Show, Monday to make the world a smarter (dumber) place.

Speaking on the President’s rhetoric about the media, Mitchell dropped some science:
“This is something that we first heard from Joseph Stalin. This is very dangerous. It undercuts democracy. … And for years and years, I’ve covered the State Department where we’ve tried to teach and help, advocate with new democracies how to train journalists and how we do journalism.”
She’s tried to teach and help, ladies and gentlemen. What a hero.
I don’t know about you, but someone who likens a capitalist to a communist — a successful, amiable businessman to a mass murderer — is precisely the clear-thinking person I want to be training journalists on how to do journalism.
Mitchell also trumpeted the virtuous nature of her colleagues in the mainstream media:
“It is our value system, and I do think that by talking about fake news, fake news is what Russia did to our election, the propaganda that we see from Russia invading our social media, to say nothing to have the hacking. That’s fake news. Propaganda is fake news, not what my colleagues at the White House and covering other beats in Washington do every day, sometimes around the world at great peril to their lives.”
Ahh, yes. All those colleagues…
My GOSH — they all deserve this:
Maybe that’s Mitchell in the white dress and the cool hairdo.
Star Wars: a New Dope.
Of course, I’m not the media, so what do I know? I spend most of my days writing about Joseph Stalin.
