Alec Baldwin hates Donald Trump.
As comedian Norm MacDonald has pointed out, Baldwin’s loathing for Trump is so evident in his portrayal of the President on SNL, it makes it less comedy and more Disdain Showcase.
Comedy is joyful; light. Alec’s vicious dislike of The Donald is about as feathery as an anvil.
And the load ain’t lightenin’ any time soon.
On Twitter Sunday, the star of 30Rock made an outrageous claim, the likes of which no one attempting to hilariously lampoon a character should think of their subject:
“Trump is a curse, brought down on us as punishment 4 our sins. The slaughter of Native Americans, slavery, Japanese internment, Vietnam. Every hateful, misogynistic, racist notion, intertwined w our better nature, Trump embodies those. He is us. Now we can face it + exorcise it.”

That’s quite the mouthful.
He then let us all know what we have to do, once the cancer of Trump is removed from the body politic:
“Remember that once Trump is gone, by whatever means, + is replaced by a competent/duly elected successor, it will be necessary 4 all in this country 2 offer their support 2 that man/woman. Regardless of party. The period of healing for us will be long + will require our best.”

The Left is interesting: So many seem to believe only they exist — Obama was wonderful, and Trump is divisive. To the whole country.
A large contingent of those across the aisle refuse to acknowledge that anything to the Left ostracizes the Right, as well as vice versa.
In truth, politics — in and of itself — is divisive. Any policy in the middle leaves both sides dissatisfied, and any to the side leaves half of America perturbed.
Yet, according to Alec Baldwin and many others, the gauge of national opinion and the metric of left-wing contentment are one and the same.
And currently, “America” hates its president. So much so, that he must surely be our divine punishment for the shameful sins of a nation.
Unsurprisingly, some of Baldwin’s followers agreed with his post. One user called upon the country to “wisely” understand that it stinks:
We are at the end of a long path that has wisely asked us to look at inverse of American Exceptionalism. Acknowledging our failures allows us to aspire to the Enlightened aspirations of America. The radical notion of a free and virtuous republic.

I agree with this 100%.

That man/woman will not have my full support unless they are against everything Trump pushed for including tax cuts for the 1% and butchering healthcare.

Interesting that the President Trump admires most, Andrew Jackson, was savage toward Native Americans.

Sad but true.

But, of course, there was also the likes of this:
You really can't make up this kind of stupid. Seriously who in your life screwed you up this bad?
— Scott (@UKBleedingBlue) December 17, 2018
And all of this:
IDK I heard trump is a very nice, very good man in person… that he’s actually very generous and despite all of the money he has he’s down to earth and can relate to people from all walks of life.

Correct Kevin! Its just great that Trump rules the life of people like Alec. They eat, sleep and breath Trump and it kills them that he is saving not only our Country, but the World. Alec is but a very small player in the game that is being taken over.https://t.co/GP14kXhpe5

The level of your derangement is stunning. I highly recommend that you consider some professional psychiatric help. Since you have no facts, no real substance to your objections you go for superstition and voodoo. You really are a piece of work.

There’s so many things wrong with this, not sure where to begin. The real curse is the mindless fascination with Hollywood dolts such as yourself that couldn’t find a logical, coherent thought even if it was imbedded in a script.

And you have to deal with it for 2 more years. The hate that goes on must be so stressful…

Hope ur incl urself in, the "hateful".

Are you referring to slavery the democrats fought Lincoln to protect, Japanese internment ordered by democrat FDR, and Vietnam that democrat LBJ ordered us into?
— Jeff Mary Perrine (@JDMaryP) December 17, 2018
What’s our punishment for Alec Baldwin?? An angry hypocrite dude and crappy comedy?
— Mike Schaefer (@MikeSchaeferLC) December 17, 2018
To be fair, Alec’s tweet came shortly after President Trump lambasted an SNL It’s a Wonderful Life spoof which proposed a world without Trump’s presidency:
“A REAL scandal is the one sided coverage, hour by hour, of networks like NBC & Democrat spin machines like Saturday Night Live. It is all nothing less than unfair news coverage and Dem commercials. Should be tested in courts, can’t be legal? Only defame & belittle! Collusion?”

I sure do miss the days when comedy just meant “material that is funny.”
No fights; no politics. Just silliness.
What’s your example of pure comedy? I’ll give two: Monty Python’s Parrot sketch, and Don Knott’s dentist scene in The Shakiest Gun in the West.
