January Women's March Gets Canceled Because Participants are Too White

Eureka!

In the California city of the same name, a Women’s March set for January 19th — same as the Washington rally — has been canceled. It’s kaput. Done. No más.

The reason? Well…it’s bad.

In fact, it’s the worst, according to a statement:

“Up to this point, the participants have been overwhelmingly white, lacking representation from several perspectives in our community.”

EGAD!

Say it ain’t so!

Therefore, they need to wait to accumulate a group that more accurately represents Humboldt County; oh, but still no guys:

“Instead of pushing forward with crucial voices absent, the organizing team will take time for more outreach. Our goal is that planning will continue and we will be successful in creating an event that will build power and community engagement through connection between women that seek to improve the lives of all in our community.”

If they can proportionately get rid of a ton of whiteys, they might try again in March, in commemoration of International Women’s Day.

Here’s to hoping.

In the meantime, MAN — white people mess up everything (here, here, here, here, here, here, and here).
