As I wrote Monday, politics seems to have become a place where people just say things regardless of whether they have any connection to reality (please see that article and examples here).
A place where the empty statements sometimes like to fly: the hit ABC cluckfest The View.
Ergo, on Tuesday, during a discussion of hypocrisy and the Trump administration, the ladies flew out a real zinger: They called Obama’s 8 years scandal-free.
Co-host Abby Huntsman led the way:
“My issue is the hypocrisy right now. I hate hypocrisy in politics, and if this were on the other foot, if this were the Obama Administration, and there were 25 officials that had been denied, or that had been, said, ‘We have concerns,’ and they still got overridden, this would be the top issue right now for every Republican in the country. And it should be for every single American.”
Joy Behar stuck her beak into things:
“None of this happened — I remember when people say, ‘This was Obama.’ Nothing like this — even remotely close — ever happened in the Obama Administration. Completely scandal-free.”
BOCK BOCK BOCK BOCK BOCK!
Meghan McCain couldn’t hold it in. She started laughin’.
Here’s where Joy really commits to whatever imagined reality feels good at the time:
“Can you name a scandal?”
And then, the snapback. Into reality.
Courtesy of a (chickensh**?) Meghan:
“Yes, but I don’t want to do this with you this morning.”
And the Behar double-down strut:
“I’d like to hear a scandal that was in the Obama administration.”
McCain ain’t chicken!
“The Iran deal. Number one. I mean, billions of dollars in unmarked bills in the middle of the night given to Iran. Yeah — that’s a big scandal.”
The other two ganged up…
Ana Navarro: “I’ll give you an Obama scandal: He wore a tan suit. Michelle showed her arms. And he ate Grey Poupon!”
Sunny Hostin: “I’m just saying — the Obama-administration was indeed scandal-free!”
As pointed out by The Daily Wire:
Some of the scandals of the Obama administration included Obama’s IRS targeting the Tea Party; the Fast and Furious scandal; lying to the American public about the Iran deal; the Benghazi massacre and subsequent spin by the administration; the biggest data breach in the federal government’s history, at the Office of Personnel Management and the VA scandal, just to name a few.
Back to my initial point: I’d be willing to bet that many, many, many Democrat voters believe the same as Joy. Because they’ve been listening to Joy. Or Don Lemon. Or NPR.
Half the country doesn’t get half the information. Our left-wing friends and family who only know what they hear on MSNBC and CNN are living on different planets than are we. The world of which they’re aware is wholly different than the one we know to exist — the one in which we all really live.
The left-wing media ain’t much for objectivity. And without information, we suffer.
–Like a bunch a talking heads who get their feathers ruffled when an an idea challenges their understanding of actuality.
Props to Meghan for correcting something fowl.
A rotten one.
