The 10 Stages of Genocide: A Social Media Marvel Provides a Window into America's Growing Mental Disorder

Has the country gone insane? Judging by social media entries, concerning a portion, it’s not too difficult to imagine the answer being Yes.

As the election neared in 2016, absurd statements by those fighting to preserve Democratic power increasingly polluted the airwaves. The dumbest, most extreme claims were flung, like a the contents of a dirty diaper steadied by a stretched-to-capacity slingshot.

SPLAT!

It was everywhere.

The result, in part, was alarmists on Facebook and elsewhere hammering the bell:

“If Donald Trump is elected, black people will be hanging from trees on the White House lawn!”

That was an actual post.

People were told Trump was essentially a reproductive miracle: Somehow, Hitler and Lucifer had engaged in sexual congress. And in 1946, out of one of their vaginas, out hatched a bouncing baby boy.

What many, many millennials didn’t know, however, was that — despite the media’s claims — Donald Trump wasn’t a reality TV star who’d run for President; he was America’s most famed and embraced billionaire, whose notoriety as a successful mogul had resulted in NBC asking him to appear on its show. Despite allegations, he wasn’t a failed businessman (people have actually said this); he’d taken a small fortune and created a worldwide empire. Despite charges of him being the Angel of Death, he’d been — for years — loved by Hollywood and Democrats and praised in rap songs.

Despite reality, however, the lobbed missive to morons was clear: Terror is upon us.

The same had happened, though to a much lesser degree, with George W. Bush. So far as I can tell, that’s when the plummet of not only ignorance, but breathtaking immaturity began.

During that era, to many of those evidently spoiled by the time in which they lived, the high stakes of life were completely lost. Seemingly gone was any concept of actual evil, suffering, or persecution.

Hatchbacks donned bumper stickers with Bush wearing horns. T-shirts portrayed W. as Hitler.

And for clueless Saviors of the Cities, reason was not an option.

“George Bush is Adolf!”

“George W. Bush is nothing like Adolf Hitler. You’re not understanding what Hitler did. Hitler murdered people.”

“George Bush murders people!”

“No, dummy. You’re saying that because he supports military action in the Middle East, and in battle, people are killed. But I mean Hitler literally ordered the deaths of people.”

“George Bush orders the deaths of people!”

“No, dummy. You’re saying he endorses policies you’ve heard negatively affect the poor, which you believe results in casualties down the line. But I’m saying that Hitler quite literally gave the order for specific groups of people to be murdered en masse.”

“George Bush gives the order for specific groups to be murdered en masse!”

“No, dummy. You’re saying he has political leanings that — as you understand it — disadvantage the lower class, which is comprised by a considerable percentage of racial minorities. But I’m saying that Hitler, in the most direct manner possible, spoke to his henchmen and gave the Go-Ahead for people to be rounded up and slaughtered.”

“George Bush speaks to his henchmen and gives the Go-Ahead for people to be rounded up and slaughtered!”

“No, dummy. You’re talking about your views on his Cabinet and prison reform. But Hitler chose to literally have millions of people killed simply because of their genetic background.”

“George Bush chooses to literally have millions of people killed simply because–”

“Ooooookay. Uncle uncle uncle!”

They couldn’t grasp the higher stakes. The forcefield of fierce immaturity is a mighty foe indeed.

And the same is true today.

There currently exists a group of people who are living out, in their imaginations, the worst the world has to offer.

Some in the media are dishing out idiotic ideas, and the craziest among us are swallowing them like so many flies.

RIBBIT!

Consider a post making the rounds on social media as of late:

10 Stages of Genocide

1. Classification: People are divided into “us and them.”
2. Symbolization: People are forced to identify themselves.
3. Discrimination: People begin to face systematic discrimination.
4. Dehumanization: People equated with animals, vermin, or diseases.
5. Organization: The government creates special groups (police/military) to enforce the policies.
6. Polarization: The government broadcasts propaganda to turn the populace against the group.
7. Preparation: Official action to remove/relocate people begins.
8. Persecution: Beginning of murders, theft of property, trial massacres.
9. Extermination: Wholesale elimination of the group. It is “extermination” and not murder because the people are not considered human.
10. Denial: The government denies that it has committed any crime.

Incredibly, the meme draws an arrow between Preparation and Persecution with the note “You are here.”

Literally none of those things have happened. But the far Left have tried to convince people otherwise. In fact, with regard to some of their most incendiary claims, the federal actions at issue were engaged by Obama. In some cases, they were begun under Barack.

But goobers gotta goob.

Apparently, the sharers of such hysteria aren’t familiar with the real History of the United States. Witness:

What’s more, not only has nothing on the list occurred, but it can’t — because America doesn’t have a “Government” — not in the way the meme references.

We have a system of checks and balances provided by three separate branches, comprised by people who all disagree with one another. And the Executive Branch has a 2-term lmit.

The whole idea of the meme is an ode to psychosis. Yet, here we are.

We’re livin’ in the Age of the Slingshot.

Or slingsh*t.

SPLAT!!!!
