On the issue of illegal immigration, former acting director of Immigration and Customs Enforcement Tom Homan has a message: All crimes committed by those in the country illegally are “preventable crimes.”

Appearing on Fox News program Outnumbered Friday, Tom insisted data from the DOJ proves illegal immigration isn’t victimless:

“I think that validates illegal immigration is not a victimless crime. Many come to this country and violate the laws against the citizens of this country.”

The Justice Department report indicates a 200+% increase in arrests among illegal residents for crimes over the last two decades.

“Last year, ICE arrested over 142,000 criminal aliens,” he explained. “These are people that violate laws entering this country and commit yet another crime on top of that.”

From The Washington Examiner:

Federal arrests of noncitizens…now account for 64% of those arrested, according to the Justice Department.

The Bureau of Justice Statistics said that federal arrests of non-Americans rose 234% from 1998-2018. For U.S. citizens, the percentage rose just 10% over those 20 years.

At Fox, Tom got pushback from a panelist citing the CATO Institute’s findings that illegal immigrants commit less crimes than do Americans.

He wasn’t having it:

“First of all, no one on this couch is going to educate me on illegal alien crime. The CATO study is a flawed study. It’s not based on crime data, it’s based on surveys. … Most crimes are done by state and local charges…many are violent. What you can’t get — you can’t get crime data on that because it doesn’t exist. Most of them don’t track whether they are illegal here or not.”

Then came the kicker:

“It isn’t how many — who commits more crimes. It’s that every crime committed by illegal aliens [is a] preventable crime. If we had border security, no sanctuary cities, had a wall — if we let President Trump secure this border, how many crimes can we prevent?”

2020 Dems clearly disagree — they seem intent upon taking the Oval Office via a platform of anti-ICE, anti-border enforcement. Is that what the citizenry wants? If I had to guess, I’d say absolutely not.

What do you think — do most voters, even in the Democratic Party, favor open borders? Do the Blue candidates have their fingers on the pulse of America, or plugged into their ignorant ears?

I look forward to hearing from you on all this.
