On Friday, Pete Buttigieg’s minister brother-in-law told the Washington Examiner the 2020 hopeful has a need: According to Pastor Ryan Glezman, the Southbend, Indiana mayor’s obligated to “repent” for his recent misuse of the Good Book.

Particularly egregious: his employment of the Bible to support abortion.

And Ryan believes it’s deliberate.

During a Friday morning interview with top-rated Urban morning radio program The Breakfast Club — during which he claimed he’s the only candidate with a “true black agenda” (*gargantuan wince*) — Pete explained that scripture and abortion are copacetic:

“[Pro-life Christians] hold everybody in line with this one kind of piece of doctrine about abortion, which is obviously a tough issue for a lot of people to think through morally. Then again, there’s a lot of parts of the Bible that talk about how life begins with breath, and so even that is something that we can interpret differently.”

So abortion up ’til birth?

“Most Americans can get on board with the idea of, ‘I might draw the line here. You might draw the line there,’ but the most important thing is the person who should be drawing the line is the woman who is making the decision.”

Pastor Ryan believes Pete is desperate to appeal to Christians but also going along to get along with left-turning Dems:

“[It’s] to seem appealing to the evangelical community. … I think he’s just going along with the agenda of the Democratic Party: that if you want to be a Democrat, you have to be pro-choice.”

The clergyman made the connection to those Jesus rebuked:

“What we see is a modern-day Pharisee. … Buttigieg is a person who’s making up their own rules and regulations  and, basically, if we don’t celebrate and endorse their interpretation of Scripture, our religion is fallible. And that’s just not true.”

And it’s Ryan’s conviction to stand up — for his faith and, subsequently, for the precious nature of life:

“I feel a sense of responsibility and stewardship of my faith to stand up and say something, to say, ‘No, that’s not true.’ God places a very high value on all human life. Everyone is created fearfully and wonderfully in the image of God with intrinsic value. That doesn’t start at the first breath, it starts when we enter our mother’s womb.”

As for Pete’s “true black agenda,” he may not make it to the White House in order to employ such a plan — after all, he’s the guy Black Lives Matters traveled across the country to stop.
