On Sunday, I covered Pete Buttigieg’s bless-his-heart-style swipe at Beto O’rourke over the punk rocker privileged millionaire who’s not at all in favor of privileged millionaires’s announcement that he’d “make…a priority” of taking away tax exemption from any church that doesn’t support gay marriage (here).

There was also a not-so-favorable mention of Beto’s fundraising techniques and aspirations toward hunting rifle thievery.

A tweeting Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez heard tell of such and, Monday afternoon, went to bat for Beto:

“Small-dollar grassroots campaigns, aka what Buttigieg insults here as ‘pocket change,’ out-fundraises him by millions. Our nation’s leaders should be working to end the era of big money politics, not protect it.”

How might a leader “work to end the era of big money politics”? Get small money? If they get small money, they’ll never be elected in order to do anything, much less end big money politics.

In politics, it’s easy to say things. Harder is to make sense, and even more difficult yet is to speak words with the distinction of having value.

Anyway, put on your mask and fins; we’re diving deeper into her tweet:

“& Beto’s gun policy isn’t ‘picking a fight,’ it’s taking a stand.”

It should be noted that the two aren’t mutually exclusive.

We have a man in the running for the Democratic nomination who’s literally promised to steal your hunting rifles. That’s an incredible line to have crossed, but he jumped right over it with a “Yeehaw!”:

I find it strange Beto didn’t realize he was saying to millions of Americans, “Whatever you do, make sure I’m never put in charge of anything.”

But he’s got his own style.

And AOC, apparently, is a fan.

Pete prefers something more tempered. As reported by The Daily Wire, in September, he touted small doable steps over impossible giant leaps:

“Look, right now, we have an amazing moment right here on our hands. We have agreement among the American people for not just universal background checks but we have a majority in favor of red flag laws, high capacity magazines, banning the new sale of assault weapons. This is a golden moment to finally do something because we’ve been arguing about this for as long as I’ve been alive.”

And he ain’t into Beto’s burglary:

“This is a policy disagreement, and it is about governing. I get it, I mean he needs to pick a fight in order to stay relevant. But this is about a difference of opinion on policy and my focus right now is getting something done.”

America is beset by violent crime; some of that is accomplished via guns, just as some is prevented by guns; violent crime with guns almost exclusively involves handguns; therefore, Beto will steal all people’s hunting rifles.

His own style indeed: the style of being a goofball.

And of this:

He could use a new stylist.
