What is wrong with people?

On Thursday, a Connecticut doctor was arrested for allegedly hugging nurses at the hospital where he worked.

Oh — and also for coughing on them.

As reported by The Hartford Courant, 48-year-old Dr. Cory Edgar was taken into custody and charged with breach of peace.

According to the police report, cops were called to the UConn Health outpatient surgery clinic in Farmington, where — as per the accusation — the UConn Musculoskeletal Institute assistant professor of orthopedic surgery was “deliberately coughing on and hugging nurses, causing them a substantial amount of alarm.”

Multiple witnesses verified the claim.

UConn Health spokeswoman Jennifer Walker did provide a small bit of potentially good news: To the best of her knowledge, Cory doesn’t have the coronavirus:

“The involved doctor has confirmed that he is in excellent health and does not to his knowledge have COVID-19. We can also state that any UConn Health employee with an indication of illness is asked to stay home, and during this pandemic all employees are screened for symptoms prior to entering the premises.”

Jennifer did also, as noted by The Daily Mail, convey that — from the accounts of witnesses — Cory “intentionally coughed on two other medical employees at the health center in close proximity.”

Purportedly, witnessed thought he was “purposely disregarding space and safety concerns involving the Coronavirus pandemic.”

How about they just tell him that?

If you’re wondering how prevalent the virus is in Connecticut, at the time of this writing, they’re looking at 1,264 active cases, and 27 deaths so far.

Number of doctors huggin’ all up on and coughin’ all over nurses: Hopefully zero.

Can’t people get a hold of their good senses?

As for those nurses at UConn Health, I hope they didn’t buy any deodorant where this guy shops.
