Even Larry David Believes Bernie Should Call It Quits, So Everyone Can 'Support Biden.' Bad Move

FILE – In this combination photo, Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., left, and speaks at a rally on April 20, 2017, in Omaha, Neb., and actor-producer Larry David appears at the “Curb Your Enthusiasm” panel during the HBO Television Critics Association Summer Press Tour in Beverly Hills, Calif. An episode of “Finding Your Roots” on PBS will reveal that Sanders and David are distant relatives. The show’s upcoming fourth season will premiere on Oct. 3. For my money, there are very few things funnier than a great awkward social situation on HBO’s Curb Your Enthusiasm.

Larry David, to my way of thinking, is hilarious.

And his Bernie Sanders character — as portrayed on Saturday Night Live — has left such a lasting impression that I find myself thinking of Larry David when I watch Bernie, rather than the other way around.

But as good as it is, Larry’s willing to give up his acting gig for the good of the Democratic Party.

In an interview with New York Times columnist Maureen Dowd, the comedian asserted it’s time for Sanders to get out of the 2020 race:

“I feel he should drop out.”

And why?

“Because he’s too far behind. He can’t get the nomination. And I think, you know, it’s no time to fool around here.”

Sounds reasonable.

This, to my way of thinking, does not:

“Everybody’s got to support Biden.”

#ShouldNotHappen

A president in a haze is not a good thing. But I don’t believe it’s something to fear: Joe doesn’t have a chance against Trump. Heck, the way things have been looking, by November, he may not even remember who Trump is.

And that isn’t at all meant to make fun of what is clearly a medical problem.

Biden evidently has some sort of issue which he cannot help, and I’d say it’s not at all likely to improve with age.

So I say keep Bernie in. Might as well.

And that’ll give us more time with Larry’s Bern, which he began doing on SNL during the 2016 Democratic primaries.

Thankfully, the democratic socialist’s announcement of a 2020 candidacy brought Bernie David — or Larry Sanders — gloriously back to the boob tube.

Speaking of the primaries, amid social distancing, logistically, how’s that all gonna play out?

The Daily Wire reports:

In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, “at least 15 states and one territory have postponed or otherwise extended their presidential primaries,” according to ABC News. The Democratic National Convention has also been delayed, moving from its initial mid-July date to sometime in August.

Correctly noted by TDW, the coronavirus clampdown has appeared to stall a bit of momentum Joe was building in late February.

After his win in South Carolina, he racked up 10 of 14 states on Super Tuesday.

But immediately following, that fire died out like a lit match in Hurricane Katrina.

However, I don’t believe it was only due to the pandemic.

In fact, the virus has served up an opportunity for Joe to show some real leadership. Instead, he’s fallen away, only to return here and there to illustrate how lost he truly is.

That makes me believe if COVID-19 hadn’t taken the focus off his campaign, the spotlight would’ve only served to show him in an increasingly confused light.

And if you’re wondering how Bernie feels, as of Wednesday, he was still in it.

He made that clear to Whoopi Goldberg:

“Last I heard, people in a democracy have a right to vote and they have a right to vote for the agenda that they think can work for America, especially in this very, very difficult moment. We are assessing our campaign, as a matter of fact, where we want to go forward.”

He’d might as well stay the course. As covered by RedState’s Nick Arama, the great (and very Democratic) Joe Rogan recently said he’d consider voting for Trump, because he sure can’t vote for aberrated Biden.

Stay in Bern.

And Larry.

Where Biden is concerned, the voters are Curbing Their Enthusiasm.
