Every now and then, I come across a video that’s just pure joy.
It’s not about politics, it’s not about news. It’s simply a delight.
In Philadelphia recently, such a clip came to be.
As reported by Philly’s ABC6, Kristin Chalela Bagnell was at her Brewerytown home with dogs Maggie and Moses when a peculiar visitor arrived.
Fantastically, the crew was treated to the site of a plump and evidently pleased-as-punch groundhog, sitting on their steps.
It’s not just the people that like Philly pizza….

The little guy (or girl?) was right up against their sliding glass door, just looking in.
The mutts moseyed over, as did Kristin.
There he was, sittin’ on his tookus…holding a giant piece of pizza.
And just chowin’ away.
Kristian told Action News the furry fan of a good ol’ Italian-American piece of Pennsylvania pie sat there for over an hour, casually munching on his piece of pepperoni (or was it Canadian bacon?), not a care in the world.
Watching the little fella makes me miss college.
Take a look for yourself and let it brighten your day.
It’s a righteous reminder: That’s what quarantine should look like. We should all be livin’ the life.
Take a cue from Kristin’s relaxed rodent, and treat yourself. If there’s delivery open, make the call. If you’ve got a frozen one, fire it up.
I wish for you an evening like our bucktoothed buddy, our wonderful woodchuck. May every day for you, amid this crazy and confusing pandemic shutdown, be Groundhog Day.
