We Are So Screwed With This Man in the Oval Office

The nation's political news these days is so grim that many have simply tuned out. I understand. I'd like to also. But.....

In this week's audio, I try to assemble a sense of the concerns that I believe are affecting us all -- the disappointing outlook for the presidency, the disappointing behavior of both men who most likely to be the nominees, the simmering sting of prices that have increased on average 16 percent since KamaIa Harris' partner took office.

The daily evidence that Joe Biden is no longer up to the job of commander in chief, if he ever was, is so obvious, so frequent, and so compelling that I cannot imagine how they are going to campaign with or for him.

The photo above is only one example of the performances he provides, especially since the special prosecutor's report detailing his mental lapses forced the mainstream media to address his condition.

His sad mental state is, in fact, the reason the prosecutor gave for not placing charges against him for illegally and "willfully" possessing and mishandling many Top Secret documents for so many years.

If he doesn't withdraw, it seems the only road left open for the desperate campaign to follow is to continue to ignore his worsening mental condition and go after Donald Trump with negative ads viciously, evilly, unrelentingly to embed him negatively in the popular memory the way Barack Obama did to Mitt Romney in  2012.

Trump has given them ample ammo to do this. However, the public already knows much of it from previous failed Democrat plots to assassinate his political personality--the Russiagate hoax, two impeachments, all the Deep State leaks, the current trials.

And Trump still leads in a number of hypothetical November polls.

Seems to me such a negative strategy might feel satisfying to a political party that has allowed Trump to inhabit their minds since 2015. But it could easily slip into overkill. Americans don't always pay attention, but they do possess a collective sense of fairness, which once fouled, is powerful.

Trump will play on that when he talks about the trials, which will eat into his available campaign time.

This week is the South Carolina Republican primary. Its former governor Nikki Haley trails Trump in the GOP race, though she has said she intends to continue at least through the batch of primaries on Super Tuesday, March 5.

She's tough and I suspect she may well continue beyond that date in one campaign form or another. If only to be around as the obvious GOP runner-up should something unpredicted happen.

We don't know what will happen to Trump in courtrooms that could affect his candidacy. He's spending multiple millions on lawyers.

A recent audio commentary returned to the expanding scale of destruction from Joe Biden's actions and inactions on the southern border. I see his aides are now talking to media about how he's considering some really tough measures.

Too late, Bucko!

Since Biden took office and began canceling his predecessor's actions like energy independence and Stay in Mexico, more than 9.2 million illegals have streamed into the country and scattered to unknown destinations.

That works out to about 8,000 illegals entering the country every day of Biden's presidency, even the 40 percent of the days he takes off. The social, economic, and political costs of Biden's dereliction will plague our country for decades to come.

Already, Democrat governors are feuding with each other over shipping these poor souls back and forth among their political fiefdoms to dodge the extraordinary costs they entail.

It seems those Democrat mayors and governors did not anticipate that declaring their enclaves sanctuaries would be anything more than a Woke photo op to defy a president named Trump.

This week's column looks at Trump's recent wild statements on NATO, why he made them, what the impact is, and he could have taken a strong leadership role in advancing the cause of the historic alliance, instead of just complaining again.
