A Catholic Church in Chicago decided to invite noted anti-Semite, racist, and Democratic party icon Louis Farrakhan to speak. It went about as well as you’d expect it to go.
CBS Chicago reports on the ordeal.
Days after being banned from Facebook, Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan is fighting back with some help from Father Michael Pfleger, and while denying he is anti-Semitic, he claimed, “I’m here to separate the good Jews from the Satanic Jews.”
During a speech Thursday night at St. Sabina, Pfleger asked everyone to stream Farrakhan’s appearance live on social media.
Pfleger welcomed a packed church before introducing his invited guest.
Ah yes, the rare not anti-Semitic individual who just refers to Jews as “Satanic.” Makes sense.
The priest of this church is apparently quite the character and fancies himself some kind of social justice warrior.
The outspoken Catholic priest said he extended his pulpit to the controversial Nation of Islam leader on principle.
“It is dangerous to me when we begin to stop free speech and seek to silence prophetic voices,” Pfleger said.
It’s nice to know he thinks an evil man like Farrakhan is a prophetic voice. Why this “priest” is allowed to even have Farrakhan come speak is beyond comprehension.
Pfleger, even after Farrakhan went full racist from the pulpit, was unrepentant and defiant.
People who label Minister Farrakhan a hater have spent the past week spewing Hate ar me and St. Sabina….but i will continue to love, fight for justice and stand with my Brother

Yes, because if anything symbolizes love and justice, it’s entertaining and promoting a rabid anti-Semitic, homophobic, racist like Louis Farrakhan. I’m not sure what reality this guy is living in but it’s not the current one. Chicago is one weird place.
The official Catholic leadership in the city did condemn the action.
“The event involving Minister Louis Farrakhan at St. Sabina Parish is not sponsored by the Archdiocese of Chicago. Cardinal Cupich was not consulted before Fr. Pfleger announced the event.
The framers of our Constitution included freedom of speech in the First Amendment because they knew that it was essential to a healthy democracy. Without this sacred right, injustice goes unchecked. This is precisely why it must never be abused.
There is no place in American life for discriminatory rhetoric of any kind. At a time when hate crimes are on the rise, when religious believers are murdered in their places of worship, we cannot countenance any speech that dehumanizes persons on the basis of ethnicity, religious belief, economic status or country of origin. We are all part of the human family, and we owe it to one another, our children — and our creator — to act that way.”
It sounds like Pfleger needs to be relieved of his duties to me.
The media are of course amazingly silent on all this. Imagine if a noted white supremacist spoke at a Catholic institution. I have a feeling that’d make CNN’s lineup. Farrakhan is treated differently though because he’s so intertwined with Democrat party politics. To go after him is to denounce a ton of prominent Democrat figures and we can’t have that can we?
One thing I know is that Farrakhan is a garbage human being that deserves every ounce of criticism he gets.
