Elizabeth Warren's Brother Is Reportedly 'Furious' With Her

Socialism can’t redistribute the family drama.

Elizabeth Warren’s campaign may be burning down, but now she’s got more personal issues in play. Apparently, her brother is furious at her for using their father as a campaign prop. Worse, he claims that Warren is also lying about their past, which seems to be right in her wheelhouse.

Massachusetts Senator and Democratic presidential candidate Elizabeth Warren apparently angered her brother by claiming their father worked as a “janitor,” with a family friend saying that the characterization made David Herring “furious.”

If you’ve paid attention to Warren’s stump speeches (you be forgiven for not doing so), she’s made a point to claim that her father was a janitor, channeling John Kasich’s “my father was a mailman” schtick. You see, she’s just like you and I, a humble member of the people and not worth over $10 million or something.

The problem is that her father wasn’t actually a janitor.

“When she called her dad a janitor during the early stages of this, David was furious,” said Pamela Winblood, 78, a longtime friend of David who had fallen out with him and supports Warren’s presidential bid. “He said, ‘My Dad was never a janitor.’ I said, ‘Well, he was a maintenance man.’ ”

Honestly, this seems a big petty, but I guess I understand it. There is an actual difference between a janitor and a maintenance man, both in the psyche of the public and their duties. While a janitor typically cleans, a maintenance man is usually more skilled and repair focused.

The real point here is that Warren has once again chosen to embellish her past for political gain. This smacks of the same kind of tactic she used to claim she was fired for being pregnant early in her teaching career. In reality, she was offered an extension and had admitted back in 2012 that she chose to quit. In this newest case, Warren had correctly noted her father was a maintenance man as late as 2014. Only since hitting the 2020 trail has she changed his profession. The reasons are obvious, as the word “janitor” produces pictures of a lowly old man cleaning up vomit.

Warren is perhaps the most inauthentic, grating candidate since Hillary Clinton, and that’s saying something. Her policies are far more dangerous than her lack of personality though. It’ll be a good day when she drops out of this race.
