Pelosi's Deputy Chief of Staff Demands Facebook Censor a Trump Ad, Gets an Answer He Won't Like

The left’s penchant for censorship of their political opponents, even in the face of obvious parody, has reached mainstream dogma within the Democratic party. In fact, they’ve gotten so used to being able to get social media companies to bend to their will, that they use it as a bludgeon anytime something is said they don’t like. In large part, platforms like Twitter bow before them, mostly because they share the same politics.

And then there’s Facebook, who despite being headed by a liberal, seems to have some care left for honoring the tradition of freedom of speech.

Enter Nancy Pelosi’s Deputy Chief of Staff.

This is, to put it lightly, pure idiocy. Since the dawn of political ads, candidates have always used exagerrated visuals and amplyfing of the truth to make an impact. Pelosi did rip the speech. She also was quoted as saying everything in the speech was a lie. Therefore, by simple deduction, the ad showing her ripping the speech before various parts of speech is not presenting a falsehood to the viewer. It’s making a very true point with some dramatic flair. Welcome to politics.

In response to Hammill’s tirade, a Facebook Communications rep chimed in.

It should be noted that Stone is not a Republican. He’s a Barbara Boxer alum, but his answer sent Hammill to his fainting couch.

Stone didn’t respond further and the ad has remained up on the site. Good for Facebook.

Of course, Hammill has never called for the censorship of any number of “altered” pictures and video that have emanated from his side, including from Pelosi’s own office. There was a similar dust-up several weeks ago in which Pelosi’s people cried foul at an “altered” picture of the Speaker from Elise Stefanik’s office. You can read about the details here, but in short, Pelosi herself was guilty of the same thing many times over.

Here’s an idea. Let’s stop treating people like they are all sub-literate morons. Everyone knows that Pelosi didn’t physically tear the speech between every comment in that video. We also know that a gingerbread man wasn’t dancing on Trump’s shoulder while he gave his impeachment victory speech (that was a Bloomberg ad). None of this actually matters.

The Democrats are hypocrites. They stink at social media, memeing, and other forms of online interaction, so they seek to have their ideological allies censor their opponents instead. Meanwhile, they routinely do the very thing they are whining about. For the moment, Facebook doesn’t appear to be playing along, having already said they will not “fact-check” ads (which is just code for punishing Republican ads with biased standards). Hopefully they hold their ground because the crying and moaning from the left is going to get louder.
